We are hiring for a full-time Lead Design Detailer based in Lincolnwood, Illinois. This role is in office Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM JOB DESCRIPTION Lead detailers are team captains, working closely with the project manager and fabrication lead(s) on larger projects while overseeing a small group (1-3) of detailers. This role works closely with project managers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure that drawings are accurate, efficient, and aligned with project goals. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES At the outset of a new project, acquire a thorough understanding of client needs, design intent, budget, schedule, and any red-flag challenges. Lead detailing teams on larger projects by clearly communicating expectations regarding level of detail, schedule, and job-specific procedures. Collaborate with fabrication leads to develop simple, cost-effective fabrication techniques. Attend all project-related meetings, including Kick-Off, Put-To-Detail, internal reviews, and Wrap meetings to assess performance and lessons learned. Review all design/detail drawings thoroughly prior to client submittal and shop release. Coordinate with Project Managers to keep drawings on schedule, and proactively communicate staffing or overtime needs to the Associate Director of Design Detailing. Ensure all steps of the drawing development and review process are followed, keeping relevant RSI stakeholders informed of changes. Use and promote Ravenswood Studio's Key Predictors of Success. Support and contribute to continual incremental improvement initiatives. Inspire positivity, demonstrate calm competence, and actively listen to team members. Perform other duties as assigned. High proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D Relevant degree / diploma, professional certification, or equivalent work experience/demonstrated skills. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Project Manager or Senior Detailer in one or more of the following industries: museum exhibit, display, cabinetry / millwork, theater, or opera. Is proactive, aware, and focused. High attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize, problem solve and think analytically. Design Lead (UX) Location: Burbank, CA (Hybrid – Tues-Thurs in-office) Duration: 12+ Months Project: The Design Lead is an expert player-coach who can set a strategic design vision, guide research and design implementation, and deliver high-quality, production-ready materials at speed. They are chief collaborators with the business, technical, and product leaders to understand and inform the vision, objectives, and transformation plans to help identify opportunities for impact. Job Responsibilities: Champion a human-centered product vision for the POD (Point of Departure): Set the strategic direction for the platform, aligning it with business goals and product strategies across multiple workstreams Lead the evolution of the platform to an integrated system with advanced predictive analytics and user experience orchestration Lead and own execution of design efforts in agile cadence: Identify, prioritize, plan, and execute iterative design research (generative, evaluative) to inform product backlog and UX design decisions Ideate, define, and deliver detailed designs for user stories, including informing user story acceptance criteria and product prioritization Operational excellence & continuous improvement: Lead POD design team in creating, contributing to and maintaining the design system and other design ops resources Cross-Functional collaboration: Work closely with product owner, data science team, and POD & Platform developers to ensure the product designs are implemented effectively Facilitate technical discussions with other designers across PODs to ensure consistency and best-in-class practices balanced with efficiency and a delivery-oriented mindset Champion design and research best practices within the POD and beyond Stakeholder communication & governance: Act as the primary voice of the user and UX expert in sprint demos and interactions with stakeholders and leadership Ensure compliance with accessibility and UX standards Tech Requirements: Figma – design & interaction tool Miro – business collaboration tool Jira – Project management and tracking Confluence – for documenting data MO365 Must Have Skills: Excellent leadership skills with experience in leading design within cross-functional teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders 5+ years leading design teams Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Portfolio based – Please include any passwords to review case studies on Cover Page and Supplier Notes on request.
