PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly. You will work in all areas of project implementation including project management, panel design, hardware specification, vendor/end user/consultant interaction, testing, and site support. Produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs. You will configure on-site protection relays, and you will support Project Management, Sales, Receiving, Drafting, Documentation, Purchasing, Production and Shipping. Produce detail design calculations and sketches for materials of construction associated with the project. Job Description:

Parsons has an immediate opening for an Associate Bridge Design Engineer in our New York City office to work on complex highway bridge design projects in the Northeast. Would you enjoy working on projects that tackle infrastructure challenges? We need our engineers to be versatile and enthusiastic about working in highly flexible, team-oriented environments. We are looking for engineers who have exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

In this role, you will be working on multiple bridge design and construction projects where you will review and prepare drawings for field uses, develop analyses models and perform design calculations, perform quantity and cost estimates, develop specifications, review construction submittals, conduct site visits, and perform technical analysis. Keys to your success will be your structural engineering experience in bridge design, inspection and a commitment to growth. Working knowledge in using Microstation and AutoCAD is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.

  • Prepares standard engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, survey coordination and structural designs.

  • Reviews and prepares specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

  • Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, and Designers

  • Coordinate with other Engineers working on the same project.

  • Performs site visits, inspections and prepares reports.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (with Structure/ Bridge Engineering focused).

  • 0-3 years of related work experience with bridges and infrastructures.

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred.

  • Experience with steel, concrete structures design is desirable.

  • Modeling and analysis experience with SAP2000, CSiBridge or similar other software programs, is desirable.

  • Experience utilizing Microstation/ AutoCAD software, is desirable
