What We're Looking For The time is right to join HNTB’s growing Design-Build (DB) Organization! We are seeking candidates for a DB Senior Project Design Director position with demonstrated experience on fast-paced transportation infrastructure projects. This Senior Design Director role is a key project leadership team position responsible for accomplishing HNTB’s 4for4 performance objective: quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client’s satisfaction. This opportunity entails leading the development and execution of the design management plan while building and maintaining effective and meaningful staff and client relationships. This position serves as HNTB's senior project leader, managing and delivering all aspects on super-mega design projects, with construction costs in excess of $1 Billion. Responsibilities include leading large teams of professionals and oversight of all technical aspects, operations, contracting, project controls, quality, risk, and change management. The DB Senior Project Design Director implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. What You'll Do: Develops and nurtures key client relationships and is the primary company contact on assigned projects. Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies. Responsible for financial performance on projects. Proactive management of cash, budget, schedule and project scope to ensure adherence to project goals and completion to the client's satisfaction. Sets priorities, obtains commitments, and engages required resources through collaboration with Group Directors, Department Managers and/or Section Managers to staff projects according to the project Work Plan. Collaborates with office and division leadership in solving challenges and ensuring business objectives are met. Supervises and mentors’ team to achieve overall project objectives. Where appropriate, oversees the project's Project Manager(s). Responsible for/oversees project staffing, including, but not limited to; recruitment, hiring, development, retention and succession of project staff; development of plan for project staff reporting; and support for performance and compensation reviews. Leads pursuits of super mega projects. Partners with Client Service Leaders to develop long term strategies to identify and pursue additional business opportunities with key clients and with pursuit champions on efforts for mega and super mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Works with the pursuit team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials. Leads interview and proposal presentations to the client as well as general presentations within the industry. Performs other duties as assigned. What You'll Need: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 12 years of relevant experience including 6 years of experience successfully managing and delivering mega and/or super mega projects. This team is responsible for creating a wide range of products to support military aircraft maintenance activity and ground operations. Basic Ground Support Equipment product examples include aircraft slings, engine installation equipment, landing gear installation equipment, handling dollies, and a variety of subsystems component installation equipment. Additional GSE products include protective covers and remove before flight gear. Mechanical Ground Support Equipment Design is a niche within the aerospace industry that offers mechanical engineers countless opportunities to learn about and work with most aircraft systems without being tied to one specific area for years at a time. Candidates proficient and interested in pure mechanical device creation and development should apply. The candidate selected for this position will mature existing design concepts into deliverable products and have opportunities to develop mechanical products from scratch. Position Overview: Nevados is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for developing the next generation of solar tracker technology. The time is right to join HNTB’s growing Design-Build (DB) Organization! We are seeking candidates for a DB Senior Project Design Director position with demonstrated experience on fast-paced transportation infrastructure projects. This Senior Design Director role is a key project leadership team position responsible for accomplishing HNTB’s 4for4 performance objective: quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client’s satisfaction.

This opportunity entails leading the development and execution of the design management plan while building and maintaining effective and meaningful staff and client relationships. This position serves as HNTB's senior project leader, managing and delivering all aspects on super-mega design projects, with construction costs in excess of $1 Billion. Responsibilities include leading large teams of professionals and oversight of all technical aspects, operations, contracting, project controls, quality, risk, and change management. The DB Senior Project Design Director implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.

What You'll Do:

  • Develops and nurtures key client relationships and is the primary company contact on assigned projects. Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.  
  • Responsible for financial performance on projects. Proactive management of cash, budget, schedule and project scope to ensure adherence to project goals and completion to the client's satisfaction.
  • Sets priorities, obtains commitments, and engages required resources through collaboration with Group Directors, Department Managers and/or Section Managers to staff projects according to the project Work Plan.
  • Collaborates with office and division leadership in solving challenges and ensuring business objectives are met. 
  • Supervises and mentors’ team to achieve overall project objectives. Where appropriate, oversees the project's Project Manager(s). Responsible for/oversees project staffing, including, but not limited to; recruitment, hiring, development, retention and succession of project staff; development of plan for project staff reporting; and support for performance and compensation reviews.
  • Leads pursuits of super mega projects. Partners with Client Service Leaders to develop long term strategies to identify and pursue additional business opportunities with key clients and with pursuit champions on efforts for mega and super mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Works with the pursuit team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials. Leads interview and proposal presentations to the client as well as general presentations within the industry.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 12 years of relevant experience including 6 years of experience successfully managing and delivering mega and/or super mega projects.
