Position Overview

The Project Lead is a mobile, hands-on leadership role responsible for the planning, execution, and daily oversight of construction activities on residential construction projects. The Project Lead has strong experience in all phases of residential construction and is equally capable of installing work and supervising the successful installation of work on their projects. This role serves as the primary field lead at the jobsite, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety standards, and supporting the successful completion of projects on schedule and within scope. The Project Lead will oversee multiple projects concurrently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily on-site construction activities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact on the jobsite for subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal team members
  • Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, building codes, and company standards
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager on all jobsite scheduling efforts
  • Ensure all jobsites are operating consistently to the company standards of Quality, Safety, and adherence to Schedule and Estimate
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
  • Verify materials, deliveries, and equipment are on site as needed
  • Oversee inspections and address punch list items to achieve timely project completion
  • Track and document daily work activities and provide field reports
  • Perform light hands-on construction tasks as needed to support jobsite progress

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in residential construction, remodeling, or similar field work
  • Prior experience in a lead, foreman, or superintendent-type role required
  • Strong understanding of residential construction processes, sequencing, and trades
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of California building codes and relevant material performance standards
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead subcontractors and maintain professional working relationships
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with BuilderTrend software and willingness to learn
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively by phone, text message, email, and other apps

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work on active construction sites in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift materials (up to 50 lbs)
  • Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Reliable transportation to job sites
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass pre-employment compliance as required for residential projects

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with $115,000-$130,000 DOE for California, non‑exempt hourly structure
  • Hourly, non-exempt position
  • Work hours vary by project
  • Overtime paid in accordance with California labor laws
