Perform First Article Inspection and part quality approvals based on form, fit, function. Requirements Qualifications: Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent). 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in design, development and testing of Electromechanical products such as Inverters, Drives, Servers, network switches etc. Experience with circuit board layout on analog and mixed signal boards Experience with new production build and modification of electronic products to manufacturing. Practical knowledge in designing assemblies using sheet metal, mounting PCBA’s, cable harnesses, electrical contacts/terminals/receptacles, springs, and fasteners. Experience in 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks (sheet metal, plastic, cable). Tolerance stack-up analysis. Experience with regulatory compliance, IEC/UL/CSA/NEMA standards, National Electric Code etc. Preferred: Experience and use of simulation tools for finite element analysis and thermal simulation is preferred. They manufacture mechanical and electromechanical products that keep our electrical grid working--they are seeking a senior electromechanical design engineer who will be engineering the "brains" of smart grid products, so they are looking for someone with strong electrical or electromechanical engineering experience engineering  controller products that include microprocessor-based controls used in power distribution automation, applications, including capacitor controls, source transfer controls,electronics fuses, switchgear controls, as well as patented peer-to-peer feeder restorationsystems, or products that are close to them that they can pick up these products--this is a management position and will manage a small team

The Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer will lead the design, development, testing, and support of new product solutions in the intelligent power grid. 

Key responsibilities

Design and develop conceptual & detailed product models.

Prepare, execute and document verification and validation test plans including test method and acceptance criteria.

Design controller products that include microprocessor-based controls used in power distribution automation, applications, including capacitor controls, source transfer controls, electronics fuses, switchgear controls, as well as patented peer-to-peer feeder restoration systems.

Design electronic products for smart gird solutions, including analog and unique power supply designs.

Contribute to packaging, user documentation, safety labels and product markings.

Perform First Article Inspection and part quality approvals based on form, fit, function.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent).
  • 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in design, development and testing of Electromechanical products such as Inverters, Drives, Servers, network switches etc.
  • Experience with circuit board layout on analog and mixed signal boards
  • Experience with new production build and modification of electronic products to manufacturing.
  • Practical knowledge in designing assemblies using sheet metal, mounting PCBA’s, cable harnesses, electrical contacts/terminals/receptacles, springs, and fasteners.
  • Experience in 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks (sheet metal, plastic, cable).
  • Tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, IEC/UL/CSA/NEMA standards, National Electric Code etc.

Preferred:

  • Experience and use of simulation tools for finite element analysis and thermal simulation is preferred.
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC, thermal impact would be an advantage. 
  • Design of packaging used for electronic equipment would be desired.
