TCOM is seeking an electrical design engineer to work on the design, production support and test of electrical/electronic systems for lighter-than-air vehicles and their ground support facilities. The successful candidate will have at least a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of electrical design experience, preferably for the aviation industry. The individual will be responsible for electrical design tasks including, but not limited to, instrumentation and control, power distribution, communications, programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drives. Experience in any or all of these areas is desirable. Strong emphasis on power design capabilities, including transformer design, power system analysis/optimization, and load factor characterization. Experience working with schematic capturing tools is desirable. The position requires a candidate with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary groups. A broad range of knowledge and the willingness to develop skills in new areas is an advantage. Occasional travel to TCOM’s North Carolina facility may be required.
