The Vacancy Responsibilities: • Designs, modifies and analyzes design circuits using Altium, Orcad and PADS • Creates or modifies wire harness and cable drawings, BOMs and initial prototypes • Creates, modifies PCBs layout or submits design constraints to PCB layout designer • Performs safety analysis and writes reports on new products • Works with contractor to implement specifications to new designs and release new products • Works with mechanical engineers and gives ideas to define design fit • Works with firmware engineers to debug and identify hardware or firmware issues • Works with technicians to make design modifications and changes • Has some soldering skills to make own modifications when necessary • Performs failure analysis on production or customer units • Tests and verifies the best-case solution for issues and writes ECNs to implement solutions • Reviews ECNs to ensure compliance with company’s policy • Keeps track, works on and strives to complete multiple design project tasks Basic Qualification: • Bachelor of Science /Master degree in EE • Familiar with safety agency requirements for UL, CSA, IEC and FCC • Test equipment knowledge; scope, spectrum analyzer, DMM, etc. • Knowledge of Excel/Word, SAPS, Altium, PADS, Orcad and other engineering software • Understands DAC, ADC and various communication protocols for digital communications • Good written and oral communication skills Preferred Qualification: • Able to work with multi-discipline groups to develop designs and bring designs to completion • Self starter, organized, motivated, creative and able to multi-task but keep focus on highest priority items to ensure its on-time delivery. • Able to adapt to fast-changing technologies, environments and situations • Eager to learn new skills Experience: • Years of experience: 0-5 years $75,000-$95,000

The SkyGrid team is looking for an Electronic Design Lead, responsible for all electronic hardware associated with the Strata program. This includes the coordination and integration of supplier electronic components. The individual selected for this role will lead the hardware team, which is responsible for planning, documentation, design, requirements development, and verification activities necessary for providing an integrated hardware solution that is compliant with company performance requirements and regulatory guidance. This person will collaborate with other hardware engineers by providing technical guidance, mentorship, performance goals, and feedback. This position reports to the Director of Engineering. Develop electronic hardware and software requirements, as well as detailed interface specifications, based on traceability to system-level requirements and architectures. Review and approve designs, ensuring alignment with project objectives and regulatory standards. Direct and review electronic hardware requirements validation activities and execution of requirements-based testing to ensure that system designs meet operational, functional, and quality requirements. Establish best practices and processes for rigorous system design and verification. Monitor and guide supplier performance to ensure seamless system integration and compliance with requirement specifications. Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing updates and addressing emergent issues regarding electronic hardware development and integration. Qualifications: B.S. in Engineering/STEM and 10+ years related experience, preferably in the aerospace or telecom industry. Previous leadership or team management experience in an electronic hardware development environment. Experience with electronic hardware development, test, and build. Experience with Visio or Lucid charts for creation of block diagrams and schematics. Experience with RTCA DO-160 or DO-380 for creation of environmental qualification test plans, procedures, and reports. Experience with RTCA DO-254 for design assurance of complex electronic hardware. Proven experience in requirements management, system integration, and system architecture design for Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) components and systems. Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Software, Systems, System Safety, Human Factors, and Quality Engineering. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire a team, with experience in direct reporting structures. Skilled in fostering professional growth within a team, including mentoring junior engineers and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Familiarity with RTCA DO-160, DO-380, and DO-254. Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with company objectives. Experience partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives. Familiarity with tools and methodologies for project tracking, risk management, and milestone reporting. As an FPGA Design & Verification Engineer I, you will:

  • Design and implement components for high-performance FPGA compute and networking systems used in electronic trading
  • Write verification plans and implement testbenches to ensure design correctness
  • Own design and verification projects through the entire FPGA development life cycle
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical problems at the intersection of hardware and software
  • Learn and grow your technical capabilities with mentorship from senior engineers

Required Qualifications:

  • Completed or pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related
  • Demonstrated digital design and verification experience through relevant internships, academic projects, and/or professional work
  • Experience writing RTL in SystemVerilog or VHDL
  • Familiarity working in a Linux environment
  • Proficiency with a scripting and/or high-level software language (e.g. Python, Perl, or similar)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding of advanced digital logic design and computer architecture concepts
  • Experience working with FPGAs and familiarity with FPGA tools (Vivado and/or Quartus)
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (IP, TCP, UDP)

This position requires being on-site at our office in Needham, MA full-time (5 days per week)
