Provide direction and position responsibility both inside and outside department lines on programs seeking new approaches to problems and new application of existing engineering or scientific principles. Identify and recommend improvements where established technology components and methodology are inadequate for solution. Keep informed of the advancement of technology as applied through one's area of technology. Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving technical tasks identified by management. Experience/Skills : Degree in civil engineering/science with twenty-five (25) years of experience in facility engineering support with a minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in design authority engineering experience. OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Area Security Access : Clearance “Q” Required. Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE / NNSA. Candidates must be able to perform periodic field walk downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over half a mile, climbing of ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing. Candidates must be able to conduct independent technical reviews of nuclear technical work documents in support of Civil Design Authority work, including the various NNSA projects underway. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred. Prior SRS experience and NNSA Capital Projects experience preferred. Candidates who have extensive knowledge and experience with the following are preferred: Conduct of Engineering related procedures and requirements in the DOE/NNSA environment Conduct of Maintenance and Construction related activities preferred. Department of Energy Orders and Regulations relative to the technical support required of DOE facilities. Working knowledge of Engineering Codes/standards requirements. Experience in designing municipal/urban projects with underground utilities is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Must be detail orientated, self-motivated with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficient using Microsoft Windows/Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) A valid driver's license is required or the ability to obtain one. Physical Requirements: Ability to operate a computer under normal ergonomic office conditions. Required to work in an outdoors environment during construction season. About the Role: H3X is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support and drive improvements across all production lines by developing automated manufacturing equipment with an emphasis on mechanical and process design. As part of a fast-paced, highly technical team, the engineer will play a key role in deploying new processes, designing process architectures, and building custom equipment to meet the growing demand. Responsibilities: Develop manufacturing equipment to automate processes and improve production quality by automating intricate manual operations. Design machine tooling, fixtures, assemblies, and all mechanical components required for construction and operation of the machinery. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education: Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years’ experience. OR A
MS with 8+ years’ experience. OR A BS with 10+ years’ experience or more.
Experience/Skills: Degree in civil engineering/science with twenty-five (25) years of experience in facility
engineering support with a minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in design authority engineering
experience.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Area Security Access: Clearance “Q” Required. Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and
approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE / NNSA.
Candidates must be able to perform periodic field walk downs of the job site for the engineering work
being performed. These walk downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work
in progress, walking for distances over half a mile, climbing of ladders to access remote areas, and
dressing out in protective clothing.
Candidates must be able to conduct independent technical reviews of nuclear technical work
documents in support of Civil Design Authority work, including the various NNSA projects underway.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are
preferred.
Prior SRS experience and NNSA Capital Projects experience preferred.
