Position Overview: As a Systems Design Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., located in Longmont, CO, you will develop within and maintain a sizeable enterprise SSD product test lab. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering , Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 2-5 years of experience in debugging test hardware and software from a test setup perspective. At least 2 years of experience in inventory management of capital equipment and consumable lab components. Experience in debugging network issues and providing setup support for new lab builds. Effective oral and written communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with procurement processes via Ariba tool and internal catalog. At least 3 years of experience with 3rd party test suites and platforms such as ULINK, UNH-IOL, PCI-SIG compliance, SanBlaze , etc. Experience as a team lead, including successful training/mentorship of others. Must be available to work on-site at the Longmont lab full-time. Demonstrated expertise with PCIe and NVMe protocols. The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $92,000.00 - $194,000.00 Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Proven expertise in design optimization for performance and low power consumption, including UPF, static timing analysis, synthesis design constraints, and closing timing with logic techniques. Demonstrated track record of innovation and problem-solving in high-performance and/or low power SOC development, with experience delivering highly technical solutions. The Non-Volatile Engineering Group (NVEG), a division within the Technology and Products Group (TPG), is dedicated to advancing non-volatile memory technologies, such as NAND. Our primary mission is to innovate and develop groundbreaking solutions that improve the performance and reliability of non-volatile memory products. 

Position Overview: 

As a Systems Design Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., located in Longmont, CO, you will develop within and maintain a sizeable enterprise SSD product test lab. You will be responsible for defining and documenting SOP for lab activities, inventory management, debugging test hardware and software, and organizing lab ramp actions for new drive development programs. You will also evolve current lab processes to improve automation and efficiency. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Define and document SOP for lab activities, manage inventory, and debug test hardware and software from a test setup perspective. 

  • Debug network issues, provide setup support for new lab builds, and organize lab ramp actions for new drive development programs. 

  • Procure equipment and components via Ariba tool and internal catalog, and evolve current lab processes to improve automation and efficiency. 

  • Serve as the point of contact for Product Validation to global lab teams, including occasional evening international calls. 

  • Provide domain expertise on NVMe and PCIe protocols, perform triage on test failures, and collaborate across functions to innovate new solutions to execution, triage/analysis, and reporting of test data. 

  • Work to provide continued automation of test execution, triage, and reporting tasks throughout validation, and mentor junior engineers on all matters execution, triage, and reporting. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 

  • 2-5 years of experience in debugging test hardware and software from a test setup perspective. 

  • At least 2 years of experience in inventory management of capital equipment and consumable lab components. 

  • Experience in debugging network issues and providing setup support for new lab builds. 

  • Effective oral and written communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with procurement processes via Ariba tool and internal catalog. 

  • At least 3 years of experience with 3rd party test suites and platforms such as ULINK, UNH-IOL, PCI-SIG compliance, SanBlaze, etc. 

  • Experience as a team lead, including successful training/mentorship of others. 

  • Must be available to work on-site at the Longmont lab full-time. 

  • Demonstrated expertise with PCIe and NVMe protocols. 

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$92,000.00 - $194,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
