In Automotive BG, you will be involved in developing next-generation high-speed communication low-power Automotive Ethernet Switch and focus on micro-architecture, RTL coding, verification, and synthesis. Furthermore, you will participate in all silicon development aspects and work closely with engineers from different departments to bring the project from concept to production. What You Can Expect Build knowledge of overall architecture of Automotive and Networking Ethernet products. Follow industry standards and initiate documents for enhancing or implementing features on our products. Deliver various functional and design specifications for design, verification, and system teams. Work together with verification engineers for design verification and validation. Collaborate with the physical design engineers to achieve timing, area, and power goals. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience or a Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3-5 years of experience. Independently analyze and optimize small sub-circuit blocks within our overall design across Process, Voltage, and Temperature. Responsible for at least one major sub-circuit block from architecture definition to fine tuning. Experience identifying and proposing innovative solutions to enhance the design of at least one major sub-circuit block. Experience in root cause investigation and silicon validation of model to hardware correlation issues. Have hands-on experience for all aspects of the chip development process with proficiency in front end tools and methodologies. Knowledge of Ethernet protocol or previous experience with network IC development is a plus. Expected Base Pay Range (USD) 124,160 - 186,000, $ per annum The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions. Basic Purpose: Development of Wiring Harness components (protectors, grommets, holders, etc.) using 3D CAD systems (CATIA V5), releasing 2D drawings of components for quotation and for tooling kick-offs, and adjusting the designs until part/project completion. Requires working with the Wiring Harness engineers of each customer division (primarily Ford, Stellantis, and Toyota), internal Procurement, Validation, QA departments, and external suppliers. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Use 3D CAD to develop components for Wiring Harness; requires ongoing packing studies to analyze vehicle fit, while maintaining required clearance from surrounding parts. Create and check 2D drawings for developed parts using SEWS and Customer standards, and releasing those drawings for production according to the prepared development schedule. Act as program lead where assigned. Maintain development schedules in accordance with customer project timing, and assuring that all milestones are met on time for program parts (monitor and advise junior team members). Working with Wiring Harness engineers to assess the component needs and update the designs throughout the vehicle maturation process (includes both online and in-person meetings the latter of which may require visits to customer sites). Request quotes via the Procurement team, assist in the supplier selection process, and kick-off of tooling for developed parts. Work with Suppliers (concurrently with SQA Dept.) to resolve any design or quality issues with the developed components from tooling kickoff until mass production launch; includes visits to suppliers for production trials. Work with engineers or Japanese parent company to facilitate tooling quotations, tool design sign off, and drawing submissions to customer. Create and check DFMEA and DVP&R documents for developed parts, in accordance with the requirements of each customer. Maintain the library of standards of each customer and of Sumitomo, in relation to the scope of parts to be developed, and following those standards. Prepare test samples, coordination of testing of components as required for each customer, and present the results to the customer engineering sections. Qualifications: BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar 6+ years experience with 3D CAD systems (CATIA V5) is required and/or the development of injection-molded parts is preferred; should be able to perform other engineering functions in addition to 3D CAD design. Bilingual (English/Japanese) capability is helpful for liaison work with Japanese parent company. Must be willing to travel for trial events and supplier audits. Responsibilities Design, model and optimize electron optics systems (e.g. source, column, deflection and focusing elements). Identify and investigate new concepts, performance improvements, methods, and sub-systems. Create system requirement documents, error budgets, tolerances, working parameters, and test plans. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to implement designs. Support the team in understanding and closing the gap between simulation and experiment. Present and report findings to internal customers. Occasional travel for vendor or customer engagement. Qualifications PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical/Computer Engineering or similar field with experience; Masters' with commensurate experience. Must have a background in designing scanning electron microscopes and understanding of electron optics. Proficiency with electron optics simulation tools (e.g. charged particle tracking code, Munro's Electron Beam Software (MEBS), finite element software packages such as OPERA, ANSYS or COMSOL). Proficiency with a scripting language (e.g. Matlab, Python, or C++). Strong analytical skills. Experience with high performance, parallel computing is a plus. Your Team, Your Impact

As a Senior Staff Engineer, Digital IC Design with Marvell, you'll be a member of the Automotive business group. In Automotive BG, you will be involved in developing next-generation high-speed communication low-power Automotive Ethernet Switch and focus on micro-architecture, RTL coding, verification, and synthesis. Furthermore, you will participate in all silicon development aspects and work closely with engineers from different departments to bring the project from concept to production.

What You Can Expect

  • Build knowledge of overall architecture of Automotive and Networking Ethernet products.

  • Follow industry standards and initiate documents for enhancing or implementing features on our products.

  • Deliver various functional and design specifications for design, verification, and system teams.

  • Work together with verification engineers for design verification and validation.

  • Collaborate with the physical design engineers to achieve timing, area, and power goals.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience or a Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3-5 years of experience.

  • Independently analyze and optimize small sub-circuit blocks within our overall design across Process, Voltage, and Temperature.

  • Responsible for at least one major sub-circuit block from architecture definition to fine tuning.

  • Experience identifying and proposing innovative solutions to enhance the design of at least one major sub-circuit block.

  • Experience in root cause investigation and silicon validation of model to hardware correlation issues.

  • Have hands-on experience for all aspects of the chip development process with proficiency in front end tools and methodologies.

  • Knowledge of Ethernet protocol or previous experience with network IC development is a plus.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

124,160 - 186,000, $ per annum

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
