Who we are looking for

The role of a Design Research Intern at Re:Build Tekna is to support the creation of human-centered product, service, and brand solutions by planning, conducting, analyzing, and communicating research findings to build our collective confidence in design decisions. The role primarily focuses on understanding user needs, behaviors, and contexts, and translating insights into actionable guidance. The intern will collaborate closely with other Researchers, Industrial Designers, UX/UI Designers, Mechanical Engineers, and Product and Project Managers throughout the design process.

What you'll get to do

• Assist in planning and conducting of primary (qualitative and quantitative) and secondary research, including, but not limited to, interviews, observations, surveys, and usability testing.
• Support synthesis of research findings into clear insights, themes, and opportunity areas.
• Create research artifacts such as interview guides, end user personas, journey maps, and research summaries.
• Participate in collaborative design and research sessions (e.g., brainstorms or workshops) with cross-functional teams.
• Help communicate research findings through presentations, reports, and informal team discussions.

What you bring to the team

Working toward or completed: BA/BS degree program or higher in a relevant field with demonstrated application of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods.Junior or Senior- level students (completed at least two years toward the stated degree).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Curiosity, empathy, and a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.
• Openness to feedback and a willingness to iterate on work in a collaborative, professional manner.
