F-22 Software Design & Analysis Engineer (Experienced, Senior, or Lead) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is looking for a F-22 Software Design & Analysis Engineer to join our Flight Test and Evaluation team at Edwards AFB, CA which is located approximately 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles, CA. Edwards AFB is the home of the 412th Test Wing and the 2nd largest Air Force base. The wing oversees base day-to-day operations and provides support for over 10,000 military, federal civilian and contract personnel assigned to a 481-square mile installation. The 412th Test Wing plans, conducts, analyzes, and reports on all flight and ground testing of aircraft, weapons systems, software and components as well as modeling and simulation for the U.S. Air Force. There are three core components for this mission: flying operations, maintenance and engineering. The Boeing Company supports multiple platforms at Edwards AFB. This posting is for the support of the 411th Flight Test Squadron (AD CTF) where Boeing works directly with our Air Force customer and our industry partners supporting its mission to improve the warfighting capabilities of the Air Force through system integration, development, test and evaluation of the F-22 Raptor. The site is comprised of a diverse team of Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) employees who are extremely motivated, skilled, knowledgeable, and highly valued by our customers and business partners. Primary duty is to develop and maintain software solutions for post-flight and real-time flight test data processing and analysis. Applications include maintaining instrumentation configuration database, maintaining team web pages, supporting user analysis procedures and tools, troubleshooting customer issues, and producing data item configuration products to support real-time and post-flight processing. BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced, Senior, and Lead level F-22 Software Design & Analysis Engineers. Position Responsibilities Include: Create, implement, and manage data pipelines for ingesting flight test data from multiple sources to a common cloud environment Design and implement data architectures for flight test data in a cloud environment including defining appropriate databases, data warehouses, and data lakes Integrate data from a variety of different sources into a unified view of the data Collaborate with data platform developers to optimize cloud-based data systems for performance by tuning databases, appropriately tagging data, and improving query efficiency Develop and implement a methodology for ensuring data quality and integrity Collaborate with AD CTF data scientists and engineers to understand their data needs and provide the necessary infrastructure and tools Develop automation to streamline repetitive tasks and workflows Monitor the cloud data systems and adjudicate issues as they arise Identify and implement the ideal data formats for use in a cloud environment with the goal of maximizing data access while minimizing storage costs Collaborate with AD CTF computer scientists and data processing engineers to define and implement appropriate data structures in the cloud environment Collaborate with AD CTF data processing engineers and analysts to employ a data tagging scheme that assists with data organization and query efficiency Support the development and sustainment of data platform applications (especially CHEETAS) so they conform to the cloud environment data structure and organization Collaborate with AD CTF machine learning/AI engineers to develop new models that leverage the cloud environment Assist with ingest and processing of flight test data into a cloud environment Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Strong software programming skills and experience of programming languages such as R, Python, Matlab, Java, C, or C++ Active Security+ certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 6 months of your start date Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 10 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience using AWS services and architecture. Edwards AFB is the home of the 412th Test Wing and the 2nd largest Air Force base.   The wing oversees base day-to-day operations and provides support for over 10,000 military, federal civilian and contract personnel assigned to a 481-square mile installation.  The 412th Test Wing plans, conducts, analyzes, and reports on all flight and ground testing of aircraft, weapons systems, software and components as well as modeling and simulation for the U.S. Air Force. There are three core components for this mission: flying operations, maintenance and engineering.

The Boeing Company supports multiple platforms at Edwards AFB. This posting is for the support of the 411th Flight Test Squadron (AD CTF) where Boeing works directly with our Air Force customer and our industry partners supporting its mission to improve the warfighting capabilities of the Air Force through system integration, development, test and evaluation of the F-22 Raptor.

Primary duty is to develop and maintain software solutions for post-flight and real-time flight test data processing and analysis.  Applications include maintaining instrumentation configuration database, maintaining team web pages, supporting user analysis procedures and tools, troubleshooting customer issues, and producing data item configuration products to support real-time and post-flight processing.

BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced, Senior, and Lead level F-22 Software Design & Analysis Engineers.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Create, implement, and manage data pipelines for ingesting flight test data from multiple sources to a common cloud environment
  • Design and implement data architectures for flight test data in a cloud environment including defining appropriate databases, data warehouses, and data lakes
  • Integrate data from a variety of different sources into a unified view of the data
  • Collaborate with data platform developers to optimize cloud-based data systems for performance by tuning databases, appropriately tagging data, and improving query efficiency
  • Develop and implement a methodology for ensuring data quality and integrity
  • Collaborate with AD CTF data scientists and engineers to understand their data needs and provide the necessary infrastructure and tools
  • Develop automation to streamline repetitive tasks and workflows
  • Monitor the cloud data systems and adjudicate issues as they arise
  • Identify and implement the ideal data formats for use in a cloud environment with the goal of maximizing data access while minimizing storage costs
  • Collaborate with AD CTF computer scientists and data processing engineers to define and implement appropriate data structures in the cloud environment
  • Collaborate with AD CTF data processing engineers and analysts to employ a data tagging scheme that assists with data organization and query efficiency
  • Support the development and sustainment of data platform applications (especially CHEETAS) so they conform to the cloud environment data structure and organization
  • Collaborate with AD CTF machine learning/AI engineers to develop new models that leverage the cloud environment
  • Assist with ingest and processing of flight test data into a cloud environment

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science    
  • Strong software programming skills and experience of programming languages such as R, Python, Matlab, Java, C, or C++
  • Active Security+ certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 6 months of your start date
