About this role

What team will you be on?

You’ll be part of the Global Workplace Planning team, which sits within BlackRock’s Enterprise Services organization. This team is responsible for delivering a workplace environment that is employee-centric, productive, and reflective of BlackRock’s values. Within this group, the Design & Construction (D&C) function leads the strategic planning and execution of capital projects across the firm’s global real estate portfolio. The team plays a critical role in shaping the physical workplace experience for thousands of employees worldwide. As the Global Head of Design & Construction, you will lead the D&C function, overseeing projects across all regions and ensuring consistency in design, execution, and experience. What will you be doing?

  • Leading the Design and Construction team, who are responsible for a global portfolio of capital projects; ensuring timely, on-budget, and high-quality delivery
  • Developing and managing the global capital plan in partnership with regional and finance teams
  • Championing global design standards and workplace innovation strategies
  • Managing regional and global relationships with third-party program managers, design consultants, and contractors across regions
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders to align workplace strategy with business needs
  • Overseeing governance, risk management, and performance reporting for all PD&C initiatives
  • Leading and mentoring a global team of design and construction professionals

What are we looking for?

  • 10+ years of experience in global design, construction, and workplace strategy leadership
  • Proven success delivering complex capital projects across multiple geographies
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing large-scale budgets
  • Deep understanding of workplace design trends, sustainability, and flexible work environments
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills in a matrixed organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Power BI, AutoCAD, etc.)
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$162,000.00 - USD$270,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
