As a Principal UX Designer working on Riot Client, you will set the experience design vision for our multi-game experiences across the Riot Ecosystem. Your work will include end-to-end experience design and advocating for player experiences and design opportunities that elegantly resolve valuable player journeys. Player Platform is a product and service org that creates experiences to accelerate game teams; solving common problems that many game teams can benefit from. As a User Experience Designer on the team, you will be a central contributor to defining the team's product and feature vision for our players, and trusted to design solutions that help players have a cohesive and complementary ecosystem experience with Riot owned channels and games. You will work closely with designers across the org and with game teams acting as a go to thought leader in the design space that is able to tame complexity and orchestrate against ambitious bets that are resonant to players. You will report to the Director, User Experience. Responsibilities: Lead UX design and set the vision across Riot Owned Channels (Riot Client, Riot Mobile, Web). Collaborate across the initiative to ensure high quality design can consistently be realised. Communicate your data-informed vision and design rationale, that has players at the heart of it, to stakeholders and team members in a compelling way. Deliver appropriate UX design artifacts for the team (e.g., strategy articulation, discovery/ research results, journey maps, Information Architectures (IAs), flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes) Break down experiences thoughtfully for teams to ship value incrementally (from Minimum Valuable Experience to Desired Experience), making intentional trade-offs that are grounded in a clear perspective that works towards the optimal player impact. Establish experiential principals that guides decision making and crafts thoughtful cohesion. Define key outcomes and metrics that help us understand how well our experiences are enhancing the player experience. Work with Design discipline leadership across Riot to establish best-practices, quality standards, and champion user-centered design methodologies. Required Qualifications: Minimum 8 years industry experience, having led significant portions of the UX of multiple shipped multiplatform online games as a service, or major releases of consumer-facing digital products. Experience setting product strategy and solving difficult UX problems by creating intuitive interfaces. Adept at UX prototyping, using interactive design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and prototyping tools. Comfortable planning and estimating UX effort for projects and programs. Comfortable switching between design strategy, micro- and macro-level interaction design, and design execution, and taking on roles outside of traditional design, including product management. Desired Qualifications: Experience designing interfaces on Mobile, PC, and Console, with strong understanding of interaction modalities across controller, keyboard, mouse, and touch. Experience designing tooling for publishing workflows. Experience designing UX for metasystems and/or Clients. As a Principal UX Designer working on Riot Client, you will set the experience design vision for our multi-game experiences across the Riot Ecosystem. Your work will include end-to-end experience design and advocating for player experiences and design opportunities that elegantly resolve valuable player journeys. You'll work from discovery to implementation; collaborating with designers, engineers, product managers, etc to create resonant, anticipatory, and relevant experiences for players. You are a visionary designer who will level up and inspire teams and disciplines across organizations. You are someone who is comfortable operating in the ambiguity of design opportunities, with a deep awareness of our players' needs, and can shape them into actionable pursuits by other designers.

Player Platform is a product and service org that creates experiences to accelerate game teams; solving common problems that many game teams can benefit from. As a User Experience Designer on the team, you will be a central contributor to defining the team's product and feature vision for our players, and trusted to design solutions that help players have a cohesive and complementary ecosystem experience with Riot owned channels and games. You will work closely with designers across the org and with game teams acting as a go to thought leader in the design space that is able to tame complexity and orchestrate against ambitious bets that are resonant to players. You will report to the Director, User Experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead UX design and set the vision across Riot Owned Channels (Riot Client, Riot Mobile, Web).
  • Collaborate across the initiative to ensure high quality design can consistently be realised.
  • Communicate your data-informed vision and design rationale, that has players at the heart of it, to stakeholders and team members in a compelling way.
  • Deliver appropriate UX design artifacts for the team (e.g., strategy articulation, discovery/ research results, journey maps, Information Architectures (IAs), flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes)
  • Break down experiences thoughtfully for teams to ship value incrementally (from Minimum Valuable Experience to Desired Experience), making intentional trade-offs that are grounded in a clear perspective that works towards the optimal player impact.
  • Establish experiential principals that guides decision making and crafts thoughtful cohesion.
  • Define key outcomes and metrics that help us understand how well our experiences are enhancing the player experience.
  • Work with Design discipline leadership across Riot to establish best-practices, quality standards, and champion user-centered design methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years industry experience, having led significant portions of the UX of multiple shipped multiplatform online games as a service, or major releases of consumer-facing digital products.
  • Experience setting product strategy and solving difficult UX problems by creating intuitive interfaces.
  • Adept at UX prototyping, using interactive design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and prototyping tools.
  • Comfortable planning and estimating UX effort for projects and programs.
  • Comfortable switching between design strategy, micro- and macro-level interaction design, and design execution, and taking on roles outside of traditional design, including product management.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience designing interfaces on Mobile, PC, and Console, with strong understanding of interaction modalities across controller, keyboard, mouse, and touch.
  • Experience designing tooling for publishing workflows.
  • Experience designing UX for metasystems and/or Clients.
