What You Bring to the Table 5+ years of experience in UX Research, preferably in user-facing industries such as eCommerce, technology, or multi-sided marketplaces for B2B and B2C brands. Experience researching and evaluating emerging technologies (such as AI) is a strong plus. Demonstrated ability to lead impactful research initiatives with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods (interviews, usability testing, surveys, diary studies, etc.). Experience conducting research across a variety of devices and platforms (desktop, smartphone, tablet). Experience collaborating with Product, Design, and Analytics to translate insights into decisions Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills and ability to multitask multiple projects at a time. About The Role

As our Senior User Experience Researcher, you'll take the lead on foundational research initiatives that guide the evolution of Grubhub's ecosystem. As the sole dedicated user experience researcher across the organization, you will play a critical role in driving user-centered decision-making, uncovering deep insights about our customers, and influencing product strategies from concept to launch. As a Sr. UX Researcher, you will be empowered and expected to identify best approaches to complex problems, design research plans, manage survey and user interview recruits, conduct studies, and generate actionable insights.

You'll also play a key role in helping us understand and shape the impact of AI-powered experiences, ensuring new technologies are grounded in real human needs. You'll be instrumental in exploring how AI can enhance and support our users across the Grubhub experience.

The Impact You Will Make

  • Work closely with design and product leadership to identify generative research opportunities and scope studies where the problem is undefined.

  • Design and execute a range of research studies (generative, evaluative, and exploratory) to inform product direction and strategy across multiple teams and business lines.

  • Partner closely with Product Managers and Designers to prioritize research needs and embed insights into the product development process.

  • Deliver, communicate, and socialize compelling, actionable insights to internal stakeholders and leadership that influence product and design decisions at both tactical and strategic levels.

  • Develop scalable research processes and frameworks that allow teams to self-serve or collaborate on lightweight research when needed.

  • Represent the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle ensuring every decision we make is grounded in real user needs and pain points.

  • Evangelize a research-driven mindset across the organization and help mature the overall UX research practice.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of experience in UX Research, preferably in user-facing industries such as eCommerce, technology, or multi-sided marketplaces for B2B and B2C brands.

  • Experience researching and evaluating emerging technologies (such as AI) is a strong plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead impactful research initiatives with cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods (interviews, usability testing, surveys, diary studies, etc.).

  • Experience conducting research across a variety of devices and platforms (desktop, smartphone, tablet).

  • Experience collaborating with Product, Design, and Analytics to translate insights into decisions

  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills and ability to multitask multiple projects at a time.

  • Comfortable operating as a solo researcher and prioritizing work across multiple teams and stakeholders.

The base salary range for this position is below:

New York: $168,000 - $175,500

Grubhub uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
