The F-22 Raptor Team is seeking an Associate System Design Engineer in Berkeley, MO or Richardson, TX to join the F-22 Raptor Mission Design and Analysis Team with a focus on developing cutting edge engineering solutions to advance the world’s premier air fighter.

As an Associate System Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing engineering solutions for the F-22 Raptor, including both enhancing existing field units with the addition of new capabilities as well as architecting and testing completely new systems. In this role, you will be joining a cross-functional team to progress our products through the development lifecycle.Tasks include developing requirements to support customer needs, designing a networked architecture to enable new capabilities, and authoring test plans and procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Responsible Engineers, customer technical staff, suppliers, and Lockheed Martin teammates to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements for F-22 avionics sub-systems and weapon system architecture

  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications in support of lab and operational environments

  • Defines verification procedures for critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements

  • Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 2+ years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education

  • Ability to obtain F-22 Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
