Job Description Summary The design engineer for Inlet Systems will work on the design and development of GE Heavy duty Gas Turbine (GT) Inlet and Exhaust system. Interact and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, advanced technologies, gas turbine & systems engineering. Coordinate with vendors to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications. Document design work clearly and meticulously. Develop work instructions or tools to guide the review and validation of structural calculation reports, ensuring consistent and thorough evaluation processes.   • Deliver on requisition of new unit projects, NPI deliverables & other key activities related to Inlet systems of HDGT.

  • Generate design calculations documentation including equipment arrangement drawings and layouts, piping and instrumentation diagrams and datasheets.

  • Deliver on aero-thermal studies related to inlet, IBH, wet compression, Inlet stack, and any other CFD support needed by teams across Mechanical COE.

  • Use & develop expertise in mechanical design and aero-thermal design and proficiency in using tools like, ANSYS- Structural, CFX etc to develop and validate the designs

  • Develop innovative ways to simplify design & processes & develop a cost effective products & drive positive project margins.

  • Interact and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, advanced technologies, gas turbine & systems engineering.

  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.

  • Document design work clearly and meticulously.

  • Develop work instructions or tools to guide the review and validation of structural calculation reports, ensuring consistent and thorough evaluation processes.
