Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
SENIOR UI/UX FRONTEND DEVLOPER
Marketing & Innovation

Job Summary

We’re looking for a Senior UI/UX Frontend Developer who codes first but designs with empathy—someone who knows how to turn wireframes into production-ready websites using modern tools, clean architecture, and a deep appreciation for UX.

Calcium+Company is a leading healthcare marketing agency driving smarter brand engagement through strategy, creativity, data, and technology. Within our Marketing & Innovation hub, the Technology & Experience Design team brings to life digital ideas that connect brands with audiences in meaningful ways—through thoughtfully coded, beautifully designed, and AI-enhanced experiences.

Role Overview

The Senior UI/UX Frontend Developer leads the transformation of digital designs into responsive, accessible, and high-performance user interfaces. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and design—coding web solutions that deliver seamless user experiences while collaborating with cross-functional teams on IA, usability, and implementation.

You’ll bring strong frontend skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap, along with experience using build tools like Gulp or Grunt. You’ll also apply AI-powered tools and plugins to accelerate workflows—from code generation to design handoff.

This is a coder-first role—but one that values elegance, efficiency, and experience as much as execution.

Key Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following)

Frontend Development
  • Build responsive and accessible user interfaces with HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript
  • Use frameworks and libraries such as Bootstrap, React, or Vue.js to implement scalable frontends
  • Maintain efficient build processes with Gulp, Grunt, or Webpack for compiling, minifying, and asset optimization
  • Apply semantic markup and performance best practices across all code

UX Implementation
  • Design and build wireframes, low- to high-fidelity prototypes, and user flows in Figma, ensuring they are clear, scalable, and development-ready
  • Translate sitemaps and wireframes into polished frontends using modern frameworks and pixel-perfect implementation
  • Ensure adherence to WCAG accessibility standards, usability best practices, and responsive design patterns
  • Collaborate with strategists, designers, and stakeholders to define information architecture, page templates, and interaction models

Collaboration & Workflow
  • Work with backend developers, data analysts, and AI teams to integrate APIs, analytics, and personalization logic
  • Use Git and terminal-based workflows to manage code, track changes, and support team development
  • QA across browsers and devices, ensuring cross-platform reliability and brand consistency

Innovation & AI Integration
  • Experiment with AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Figma AI to improve speed and ideation
  • Contribute to prototyping sprints, rapid MVPs, and emerging tech initiatives

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in frontend web development with proven coding strength
  • Expert in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles
  • Proficient with Bootstrap and at least one JS framework (React, Vue, or similar)
  • Experienced in using Gulp, Grunt, or Webpack for build automation
  • Strong proficiency in Figma for designing and interpreting wireframes, flows, and prototypes
  • Strong grasp of accessibility standards (WCAG), SEO fundamentals, and UX best practices
  • Familiar with version control using Git and team-based dev workflows
  • Comfortable integrating analytics tags, data layers, and performance monitoring tools
  • Exposure to AI-enhanced tools or no-code/low-code design support platforms is a plus
  • Highly organized, with great attention to detail and strong communication skills
