This job is with Encode, Inc a fully owned subsidiary of Lancesoft Working Hours: 8am- 5pm, Monday- Friday On Site: Mon to Friday Prefers local candidates- Please submit candidates as local as possible Travel: 5% possible travel, domestic, Customer site visits GPE SPS Design Engineer – Services Lead Professional Role Description Job Description Summary As a member of the Steam Power Services engineering team in Americas, you will be an active contributor to the steam turbine service engineering activities such as outage planning and execution, technical guidance to field engineers, root cause analysis on product and process issues, design of steam turbine components and technical support to parts engineering and sourcing teams for the product designs form, fit and function. This role will require you to partner with the rotating equipment steam turbine design engineering teams globally for the product designs and development to provide safe, reliable, and quality focused product solutions. Roles and Responsibilities· Provide technical disposition and guidance to field engineers and service managers during outage planning and execution for industrial, fossil, and nuclear steam turbines, including both Client and OEM equipment.· Support site and customer facing team on steam turbine design and service related queries and its applications.· Lead small-scale steam turbine service projects of low to moderate complexity, ensuring successful execution and delivery. Example: Steam turbine interchangeability study.· Support and advise sourcing teams in the resolution of material substitution and product non-conformance issues.· Provide technical expertise to parts engineering and sourcing teams, ensuring product design requirements related to form, fit, and function are achieved.· Evaluate and disposition product and process non-conformances, driving corrective and preventive actions through structured root cause analysis.· Travel domestically as needed to support customer site activities (approximately 5-10% travel). Required Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field of study from an accredited college or university.· Minimum of 3+ years of experience in steam turbine service engineering.· Minimum of 1+ years of field execution experience, preferably within the power generation industry. NX CAD drafting experience will be bonus. Desired Characteristics· Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.· Good understanding of steam turbine and balance of plant systems and operations.· Steam turbine rotating and stationary components inspection methods and repairs.· Steam turbine disassembly, assembly, startups and operational exposure.· Respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
