Content Design & Cross-Functional Ops Content Design Scaffolding: Build the operational framework for Content Design. This includes running their backlog, developing capacity deployment strategies, and ensuring their work is integrated into broader design reviews. Technical & Brand Liaison: Partner with Engineering Ops and Brand Design to ensure the design system remains technically viable and brand-aligned. You’ll participate in (but not necessarily lead) technical discussions regarding the design-to-code pipeline. External Partner Management: Serve as the operational lead for design agencies or vendors as needed, ensuring external work meets Etsy’s standards and is integrated seamlessly into the team’s workflow. Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law. Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are: 8+ years in program management, project management, or design operations within product development. Direct experience with design systems and component libraries. Experience working with content designers. Ability to context switch smoothly between tactical execution and strategic planning, delivering at a high bar on both. Clear, succinct communication that adapts depth and detail to the audience and moment. A focus on improving team flow, decision quality, and craft standards, not just velocity. Strength in planning and negotiation with leaders while building trust through ownership and follow‑through with ICs. A generous collaborative spirit with a passion for leveling up the operational skills of those around you. Familiarity with Jira, Figma, Notion, and Google. 2F.1-IC4 Additional Information What's Next If you're interested in joining the team at Etsy, please share your resume with us and feel free to include a cover letter if you'd like. Delphi logo

Design Engineer

DelphiSan Francisco, California
Why Delphi? At Delphi, we are redefining how knowledge is shared by creating a new medium for human communication: interactive digital minds that people can talk to, learn from, and be guided by. The internet gave us static profiles and endless feeds. Delphi is something different: a living, interactive layer of identity. It carries your voice, perspective, and judgment into every conversation - so people don’t just read about you, they experience how you think. We're now making Delphi accessible to all - so that anyone can create a digital mind as an always-on profile that can answer questions on your behalf. Our mission is bold : Make human wisdom abundant, personalized, and discoverable. Preserve legacies, unlock opportunities, and scale brilliance across generations. Delphi becomes everyone's living profile to show what you know. We are trusted and loved by thousands of the world’s most brilliant minds from Simon Sinek to Arnold Schwarzenegger (interact with all of them here ). We have tripled revenue, users, and Delphi interactions in the past 6 months - all organically through word of mouth. We plan to accelerate even further from here. Delphi’s investors include Sequoia Capital, Founders Fund, Abstract Ventures, Michael Ovitz, Gokul Rajaram, Olivia Wilde, and dozens of founders from Lyft, Zoom, Doordash, and many more. Our team includes founders with successful exits and builders from Apple, Spotify, Substack and more. Learn more about Delphi and this position by calling the CEO’s digital mind here Who You Are Code-first builder with exceptional design taste - You're a front-end engineer who happens to have a great eye for design. You can debate the merits of Server Components vs Client Components as easily as you can critique visual hierarchy. Master of the modern web stack - React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind aren't just tools you use—they're tools you've mastered. You know the performance implications of your choices and write code that's both beautiful and fast. Obsessive about craft and details - You notice when animations feel off by 50ms, when a loading state causes layout shift, or when a color doesn't meet WCAG standards. You fix these things without being asked. Full-stack front-end engineer - Comfortable working across the entire front-end stack, from API integration and state management to responsive layouts and micro-interactions. Bonus if you can jump into Python backends when needed. Owner, not executor - You prototype quickly, gather feedback, iterate fast, and ship confidently. You take features from zero to production and own the outcomes. Product-minded engineer - You push back on designs that don't serve users, suggest improvements to the product direction, and think deeply about user flows. You build with empathy and intention. Comfortable in ambiguity - You thrive when the problem space is undefined. You're energized by questions like "how should people discover Delphi's?" rather than paralyzed by them. What You'll Do Build the core interfaces of Delphi Studio - Own and ship the primary user-facing features: creation flows, customization tools, and interaction patterns. You'll write the React components, build the APIs integrations, and polish every detail. Create a discovery platform for digital minds - Design and implement the browsing experience, search functionality, filtering systems, and recommendation interfaces. Make exploring thousands of AI personas feel effortless and delightful. Architect scalable front-end systems - Build reusable component libraries, establish patterns for state management, optimize bundle sizes, and ensure the app performs beautifully at scale. Translate AI complexity into simple UX - Work directly with product and backend engineers to understand AI capabilities, then build interfaces that expose the power while hiding the complexity. Set the standard for quality - Your code will be the example others follow. Write clean TypeScript, build accessible components, implement smooth animations, and establish the bar for what "production-ready" means. Collaborate across disciplines - Partner closely with designers to refine mockups and improve interactions. Work with backend engineers to define API contracts. Sync with product to shape roadmap priorities. Why You'll Love It Here We work on hard problems. Our team is full of former founders, and entrepreneurial individuals who are taking on immense initiatives. There is extreme upside. Very competitive salary and equity in a company on a breakout trajectory. We push each other. Work from our beautiful Jackson Square office in San Francisco, surrounded by peers pushing to do their best work. Benefits Unlimited Learning Stipend: Whether it’s books, courses, or conferences, we want to support your growth and development. The more you learn and improve your craft the more effective we will be together. Health, Dental, Vision: Comprehensive coverage to keep to take care of your health. 401k covered by Human Interest. Relocation support to SF (as needed) If you’re looking for just a job, Delphi isn’t the right fit. But if you want to shape the future of human connection, scale wisdom for billions, and build something that will outlast us all - you’ll feel at home here.

You must be permanently eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute multi-faceted research plans to learn about all aspects of the construction trade. These plans typically include qualitative discovery research on jobsites, primary and secondary research exercises to understand the competitive product set, and evaluation of mock-ups and preliminary concept prototypes in field.

  • Build, grow, and maintain a network of users to understand their evolving needs and work context. Establishing strong relationships with our end users is critical to conducting appropriate discovery research, co-creating solutions, and eliciting honest feedback.

  • Analyze and synthesize research findings into key insights that inform opportunities for new feature sets, functionalities, and business approaches.

  • You are ready to jump in with both feet to try new methods and learn from your mistakes

  • You are comfortable working in the ambiguous “fuzzy front end”

  • You are a strategic thinker who looks not only at the stated problem but at the space around it

  • You are proactive and open to changing research plans on the fly based on new information

  • You have strong communication skills and can get your ideas across to engineers, industrial designers, and marketers alike

  • You link everything back to our core end user’s activities and needs to provide insight for developing breakthrough products

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Business, or Engineering plus 3 years’ experience, or Bachelor’s degree in the same fields plus 5 years of experience (including internships)

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in product development with an understanding of innovation and design thinking

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience using qualitative research methods including observation, interviewing, co-creation, participatory design, and design sprints
