As a Staff Software Engineer at Ridgeline, you'll shape the future of our UI framework and platforms, building high-quality, complex, industry-defining cloud applications for the FinTech space. You'll partner with a team of talented engineers to enable a fast-moving, creative environment. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies, including AI tools like Cursor and ChatGPT, you'll enhance creativity and efficiency across the frontend development lifecycle while making a meaningful impact.

The Platform UI team provides the foundation for all UI built at Ridgeline. Our mission is to empower product engineers to deliver high-quality experiences quickly and efficiently. We focus on developer productivity, experience, and maintainability by collaborating with product teams to build tailored solutions. In this role, you will also develop, monitor, and maintain front-end developer tooling, including lightweight backend services that support our UI.

What will you do?

  • Partner closely with product engineers to understand their needs, build highly leverageable solutions, and deliver features for our customers
  • Contribute to the thought leadership, technical design, and implementation of our underlying UI framework in an Agile team collaborating on design, strategy, and engineering
  • Build, manage, and maintain our pipelines and bundles
  • Think creatively, own problems, seek solutions, and communicate clearly along the way
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment rooted in learning, teaching, and transparency
  • Demonstrate a strong dedication to code quality, automation, and operational excellence

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years in a software engineering position or similar function
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related discipline
  • Expertise in TypeScript, React, HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Deep working knowledge of front-end build tooling in the React ecosystem (such as Webpack, Bun, Storybook, GitHub Actions, etc)
  • Experience building services in Node.js, Bun, etc
  • Willingness to learn about cutting-edge technologies while cultivating expertise in a business domain/problem space.
  • An aptitude for problem solving
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Serious interest in having fun at work

Bonus:

  • Experience with investment or asset management applications
  • Experience building performant, enterprise level web experiences at scale
  • Understanding of building back-end infrastructure using AWS offerings such as Lambdas, S3, CDKTF

Compensation and Benefits

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including, the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.

The typical starting salary range for this role is: $174,500-$205,000.

The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is: $185,000-$220,000.

Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.
