About the role: As a Manager- Fuel Design, you will be accountable for the successful operations of the group in its primary accountability for assuring of the Safe Operation of Global Nuclear Operating Plants that use Westinghouse Fuel, Technology, and Engineering Services as a part of the operation of their Nuclear Power Plant. You will report to the Senior Director- Core Engineering. This is a hybrid role, based in Colombia, SC. Key Responsibilities: The group performs emergent issue resolution activities to support emergent issues at our customer's Global Nuclear Operating Plants and with the Fuel Manufacturing at our Westinghouse Fuel Manufacturing Facilities. This requires understanding and being able to implement assistance on a 24/7 need basis and to understand how to apply fitness for duty requirements. The Fuel Rod & Thermal Hydraulic Design (FR&THD) Group is responsible for areas of Fuel TH Design, Fuel Rod/Fuel Performance design, CIPS/CILC, and Combustion Engineering Digital Setpoints. The group performs design analyses supporting Fuel Reloads, safety analyses, design & product development programs, plant operational changes, and design methods development. The current group will split into two groups of 17-20 people each and this Manager, Fuel Design position will manage one of the groups for half of the work scope described above. The Manager will focus on the following goals: 1) Maintain a Nuclear Safe Working Environment, 2) Work with the Core Engineering (CE) Processes and Actions to predict and monitor the required skills and headcount to deliver upon the business need demand, 3) Manage the group's costs to goals, 4) ensure development of personnel and technology continues to support CE goals, 5) Work with CE Business Manager to Review and Forecast the group's Business for Current FY and to plan the group's business for Next Year and 5 Year Plans, 6) Work with CE Staff for the successful requirements of our needs placed upon the CE Department, 7) Work with HR and HR Processes to oversee the People Management Goals of the group and with the group's Personnel, and 8) Work and meet with and develop Important Customer Relationships with internal customers, industry partners, and Utilities Engineering Personnel and Management Personnel to maintain understanding the customer needs and expectations for proper direction of work. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required. Minimum 8 years of strong and progressively more responsible leadership experience required. Experience managing engineering teams Experience with negotiations, persuasion, and people development skills is necessary. Engage customers to promote group products and services. Experience with high technology products and systems. Gather and analyze input, evaluate alternatives, and make decisions. Excellent team building skills with the ability to engage with all partners. About the role:

As a Manager- Fuel Design, you will be accountable for the successful operations of the group in its primary accountability for assuring of the Safe Operation of Global Nuclear Operating Plants that use Westinghouse Fuel, Technology, and Engineering Services as a part of the operation of their Nuclear Power Plant.

You will report to the Senior Director- Core Engineering. This is a hybrid role, based in Colombia, SC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The group performs emergent issue resolution activities to support emergent issues at our customer's Global Nuclear Operating Plants and with the Fuel Manufacturing at our Westinghouse Fuel Manufacturing Facilities. This requires understanding and being able to implement assistance on a 24/7 need basis and to understand how to apply fitness for duty requirements.

  • The Fuel Rod & Thermal Hydraulic Design (FR&THD) Group is responsible for areas of Fuel TH Design, Fuel Rod/Fuel Performance design, CIPS/CILC, and Combustion Engineering Digital Setpoints. The group performs design analyses supporting Fuel Reloads, safety analyses, design & product development programs, plant operational changes, and design methods development. The current group will split into two groups of 17-20 people each and this Manager, Fuel Design position will manage one of the groups for half of the work scope described above.

  • The Manager will focus on the following goals: 1) Maintain a Nuclear Safe Working Environment, 2) Work with the Core Engineering (CE) Processes and Actions to predict and monitor the required skills and headcount to deliver upon the business need demand, 3) Manage the group's costs to goals, 4) ensure development of personnel and technology continues to support CE goals, 5) Work with CE Business Manager to Review and Forecast the group's Business for Current FY and to plan the group's business for Next Year and 5 Year Plans, 6) Work with CE Staff for the successful requirements of our needs placed upon the CE Department, 7) Work with HR and HR Processes to oversee the People Management Goals of the group and with the group's Personnel, and 8) Work and meet with and develop Important Customer Relationships with internal customers, industry partners, and Utilities Engineering Personnel and Management Personnel to maintain understanding the customer needs and expectations for proper direction of work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required.

  • Minimum 8 years of strong and progressively more responsible leadership experience required.

  • Experience managing engineering teams

  • Experience with negotiations, persuasion, and people development skills is necessary.

  • Engage customers to promote group products and services.

  • Experience with high technology products and systems.

  • Gather and analyze input, evaluate alternatives, and make decisions.

  • Excellent team building skills with the ability to engage with all partners.
