Responsibilities You will be responsible for every aspect of a system's user experience - the overall flow and layout of the screens, the fields and information presented, the actions and interactions that are provided, and the visualizations of the data. You'll be involved in solving workflow problems, developing new ways of visualizing market data, and figuring out what tools the client needs in their solution that even they don't realize yet. You will need to be able to think on your feet, sketch, present, iterate and refine ideas alongside and in front of clients. You'll gain broad exposure to many areas of our clients' businesses and also to a wide range of technologies. You should be adept at quickly learning new skills and terminology and at building rapport with all sorts of end users. You will be working onsite with our product and development team and partnered with a Visual Designer to collectively define the solution. Required Experience and Skills 8+ years of solid experience in UX Design, Interaction Design or Information Architecture including an ability to define and drive the process. Hands-on experience in user research, sketching solutions and wire-framing, An abiding interest in and competence for solving real-world business problems. Experience working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Ability to communicate effectively and to influence client strategy, tactics, and perceptions. Determination to succeed despite obstacles and challenges, and a positive attitude favoring achievement of goals over open-ended investigation. Resourcefulness and independence. Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Visual Communication, Graphic Design or any design-related field is highly preferred. The base salary range across different levels are - Mid to Senior level - $150,000 - $180,000 Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual's relevant experience and skills for the role and level. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance. The ideal candidate has extensive interaction design experience as well as the ability to create pixel-perfect design specifications that can be picked up and built by a front-end engineer. You will focus on our factory robotics initiative, and will have the opportunity to design both screen-based interfaces and in-person, tangible interactions between robots and humans. In this role, you will help translate user needs into impactful robotics applications, and craft the future of human-robot interaction design. Qualifications Undergraduate or graduate degree in HCI, Interaction Design, or a related field, and 6+ years of industry experience. A strong portfolio that demonstrates the user-centered design process and includes prototypes of varying fidelity. Experience designing interfaces & interactions for a physical device, such as a robot. Able to work independently with some guidance from senior design staff; demonstrates a solid understanding of best practices in design methodologies and tools. A keen eye for visual design and the ability to produce pixel-perfect design specifications. Expert in Figma, with a solid understanding of industry standards and features. Able to design a variety of UX artifacts, including personas, user journeys, prototypes, presentations, and UI mock-ups. Hands-on experience with a design system (even better if you developed one yourself!), and a strong grasp of design system best practices to ensure consistency within the team and across projects. Proficiency and confidence in working closely and harmoniously with engineers; able to advocate for the best design approach while remaining open to discussion and compromise, when needed.
