As a Falcon mechanical engineer, you will spearhead the design of numerous structures, fluid systems, and components that must withstand extreme loads and the harsh environment of space. Your Role This role is not only a hands-on designer, but also a project leader, thinker, design advocate and client relationship steward for projects and relationship-building shared across our region. What You Will Do Responsible for leading design and collaborating with fast-paced interdisciplinary teams of architects, interior designers, graphic designers, illustrators, digital designers and more to deliver projects ranging from complex signage & wayfinding to digitally integrated experience centers. Demonstrate exceptional vision, oversee projects from conception to completion, and ensure successful project outcomes. Deliver creative solutions in a diverse range of markets including aviation, education, entertainment, hospitality, retail, sports, and workplace. Your Qualifications Minimum 8 years of experience in brand strategy, print design, and environmental graphics with a professional degree in Graphic Design or a relative field Exceptional design sense - adept at developing creative up-front design concepts as well as having the technical knowledge to prepare final documentation and artwork for 3D/EGD, print, or digital applications. Excellent communication skills and experience as the main point of contact for clients, vendors, consultants, and project teams. Ability to lead complex, multifaceted projects while exhibiting financial stewardships and adhering to demanding project schedules. Ability to work closely with design leadership across Gensler to promote an interdisciplinary design philosophy and to facilitate it's advancement both inside and outside of the firm. Desire to develop, motivate and mentor young design professionals. Demonstrated success building, nurturing, and sustaining client relationships. What you will bring: 5+ years of professional experience in Visual Design, Interaction Design, or a related field, with a focus on design systems. Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, or Framer. Familiarity with advanced prototyping tools such as Proto.io, Rive, or Play. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and work effectively with cross-functional teams. Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects independently and as part of a team. Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and a collaborative, iterative design process. Familiarity with front-end development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, to inform design decisions and collaborate with engineering teams effectively. The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below: $108,000 - $186,900 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for mixed-use, commercial, and residential land development projects, along with municipal, industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types. 

In this role, you will provide crucial technical support and serve as a lead engineer on complex projects, utilizing your high-level expertise in engineering design. You will oversee project deliverables and completion for small-to-mid-sized projects, ensuring timely completion in accordance with established scope, schedule, and budget. Your responsibilities include executing QA/QC plans, mentoring and training team members, and maintaining quality control by conducting thorough checks on plans and deliverables. Additionally, you will play an advisory role on challenging projects, provide project management support, and lead the delivery of high-quality solutions to meet engineering and design needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Often serves as lead engineer on complex projects and provides high-level technical engineering design.
  • Executes QA/QC plans for the team.
  • Elevates the level of technical expertise within the team through technical design mentoring and training.
  • Leads the effort for putting together technical resources for the team and its projects.
  • May supervise/direct professionals and technical staff in the design approach to meet other project requirements.
  • Reviews contracts with support of administration.
  • Promotes efficiencies in producing quality work.
  • Maintains quality control and adequately checks plans.
