The Job at a Glance As the UX Director (Chief User Advocate) you will be at the core of making finding and buying parts fast, easy and maybe even fun! The Job at a Glance

As the UX Director (Chief User Advocate) you will be at the core of making finding and buying parts fast, easy and maybe even fun! You will establish a team of UX professionals experienced with collaborating on or driving user research, interviews, surveys and design. You will translate your research into user flows, customer journey maps, mockups, and wireframes for both our website and mobile apps (iOS and Android). You will work closely with our business partners, users and development team to create the best user-driven experience possible for new features and functionality. Advocate for qualitative and quantitative feedback to drive customer behavior to find ways of reducing friction throughout the purchase process.

A Typical Day

  • Establish, own and drive the UX practice including definition, strategy, execution, measurement and governance, putting our customers at the center of your design strategy.
  • Infuse a customer-back mindset across the organization. Be the champion and change leader to integrate User Experience into cross-functional processes and evangelize across the Parts Town business.
  • Actively engage with the customers and product leaders to prioritize roadmap capabilities that deliver easy and innovative customer experiences that drive successful business outcomes, and maximize user adoption, utilization, and retention.
  • Lead and mentor a team of UX researchers and designers, build a culture of inspiring design outcomes, and drive streamlined execution to deliver UX projects on time, on scope, and on budget.
  • Develop and maintain a compelling and frictionless user journey for all user groups that engage within the Parts Town ecommerce channels. Continually validate those experiences using qualitative and quantitative user feedback.
  • Ensure a consistent, on-brand UX across channels and touchpoints along the customer journey, so customers know and trust the experience.
  • Lead creation of a UX component library and specifications for simplified and consistent ecommerce capability development
  • Partner with product management, marketing, engineering, customer insights, and customer success organizations to measure product usage using UX metrics and seek alignment on how product roadmap capabilities will move the needle on the key metrics.
  • Stay current on industry trends, design standards and technological advancements, and competitive analysis working with the product, marketing, business, and innovation teams.

To Land This Opportunity

  • You have 5+ years in a UX leadership role in defining and executing a UX practice and can demonstrate portfolio evolution and execution.
  • You've delivered a proven track record of successful user experience research and/or design of omni channel applications.
  • You are Comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
  • You are a player coach who can think as well as do, happy at 30,000 or 1000 ft view to engage on business strategy, as well as dive deep to a pixel level to coach the UX team and lead by example.
