Qualifications 5 plus years of experience in quality engineering (electronic /electrical / testing) in automotive, with experience in OEM or Tier I level focused on start-up/launch activities Trainer certification for IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 and ANSI ESD S20.20 Skilled in automotive electrical systems, from basic wiring to complex interactions. Able to understand and develop product functional requirements at system and subsystem level. Good understanding of general requirements of electrical and electronic manufactured parts and familiar with end of line testing requirements. As Design Quality Engineer at Zoox, your goal is to support the development of the quality-related specifications and requirements and to ensure that Zoox's product and service provide a high level of quality that meets the defined standards/specifications and in the end the customer's expectations.

In this role, you will:

  • Define and monitor the Quality control activities through all the process starting from the design phase, supporting quality definition, FMEA analysis, etc, continuing in the production process and ending up with the "in service" activity, monitoring Quality standards and taking actions to fix quality issues (failure analysis, recall campaigns, etc.).
  • Part of the daily routine the Quality engineers will interact with many different departments starting with suppliers, internal departments to service organizations in the respective field.
  • Definition and improvement of Zoox Quality Policy and Manual.
  • Support setting up of procedures, instructions, and processes that will allow Zoox to align with the international standards for Quality Systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9000, ISO 26262, and similar).
  • Zoox's quality organization will rely upon different QE with different competencies and focus.

Qualifications

  • 5 plus years of experience in quality engineering (electronic /electrical / testing) in automotive, with experience in OEM or Tier I level focused on start-up/launch activities
  • Trainer certification for IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 and ANSI ESD S20.20
  • Skilled in automotive electrical systems, from basic wiring to complex interactions.
  • Able to understand and develop product functional requirements at system and subsystem level.
  • Good understanding of general requirements of electrical and electronic manufactured parts and familiar with end of line testing requirements. (Lidar, Radar, Harness, PCBA)
  • Advanced Problem-Solving certification (Six Sigma / Shainin)
  • Able to lead and develop automotive AIAG requirements, such as FMEA process / Control Plan / APQ

Bonus Qualifications

  • Six SIgma Master Black Belt or Black Belt

$151,000 - $180,000 a year

Base Salary Range

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
