  • Microcontroller design experience and experience with communication protocols such as RS485, USB, ETHERNET, I2C, SPI.
  • Hands-on system bring-up and integration with a cross functional team
  • Capable of troubleshooting and utilizing bench equipment and measurement techniques.
  • Collaboration with Mechanical Engineering teams and CAD tools

Experience in one or more of the following areas desired:

  • Hardware/software interfacing of motion control equipment including motors (steppers, servos, dc motors) and position sensors (encoders, limit switches, etc.)
  • Cable design experience for motion
  • Basic firmware development for embedded applications
  • High vibration experience
  • High reliability cable and PCBA experience
  • Design practices for environmental/safety standards and compliance
  • Experience with industrial controls a big plus (e.g. PLC, panel schematic/layout, wiring, safety systems)

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an integrated team delivering innovative designs to our clients.
  • Identify design requirements, perform risk assessments, identify required resources, and estimate time and budget.
  • Execute design plans to develop prototypes, test and qualify product designs, and refine designs for production on a scale.
  • Create and update requirements documents, specifications, schematics, PCB layout, wiring diagrams, fabrication and assembly instructions, bills of material, and other manufacturing documents.
  • Research, select, and qualify components, suppliers, vendors, and manufacturing partners. Interface with clients to provide project status and technical updates.
