THE OPPORTUNITY Silvus is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Automated Test Design Engineer that will report to the VP of Engineering on the Engineering team. The successful individual in this role will be able to design and implement efficient and streamlined automated production line test setup and programs for wireless communication systems in a manufacturing environment. The Manufacturing Automated Test Design Engineer position will be based at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles, CA and is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday. The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design and implement comprehensive test plans to provide full coverage of wireless communication system feature sets Design and implement logging and log analysis tools to capture performance of both the systems under test and the test infrastructure itself Take ownership of production test station design, implementation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade; continuous improvement of manufacturing test efficiency. Collaborate with RF and systems engineering teams to understand performance requirements and establish production tests and performance thresholds. Partner with engineering and quality teams to validate new testing approaches for rollout to production. Work closely with the software development team to augment production test systems to support rollout of new features and product configurations. Basic manufacturing failure troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production failures escalated to engineering. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, manufacturing, or related technical field Minimum 2 years of relevant test engineering experience Demonstrated experience in wireless/networking or an electronics manufacturing environment Proficient in at least one programming language (C/C++ or Python) Proficient with RF instruments such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers Demonstrated organization skill and the ability to manage multiple tasks including running multiple tests simultaneously Knowledgeable about automatic test equipment (ATE) implementations. Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Programing with APIs for test instruments. Programing and scripting in Linux OS Shell language such as BASH MATLAB WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following: Lift equipment up to 20 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing. Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves. Kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves. Walking/Moving in the labs. COMPENSATION The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The Design Assurance Engineer will provide design qualification and engineering support throughout all stages of the product development and manufacturing lifecycle. The DA engineer will serve as the focal point for the project team and the customer on topics related to safety agency and regulatory compliance as well as the necessary quality system(s). RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure that the planned project activities are compliant with Plexus' Standard Operating Procedures, ISO (i.e. 13485) quality systems, FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR), REACH and RoHS directives, and medical device standards (i.e. IEC 60601) as applicable for each unique product. Direct the development and assembly of prototypes by authoring and reviewing product documentation in accordance with quality and change management procedures and guidelines. Provide documentation and technical assistance to design engineering staff and material procurement team to ensure high quality prototypes are built in a timely manner. Participate in the Plexus quality system development and maintenance. Demonstrate proficiency using lab equipment and debug techniques to ensure electro-mechanical products meet design requirements. Determine appropriate specifications to comply with regulatory and compliance requirements of intended markets, and facilitate documentation of such specifications. Lead the development of the product Risk Management Plan, Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses, and Fault Tree Analyses as necessary to comply with ISO 14971 requirements. Participate in all Design Verification test activities, including generation of the Verification Plan, Procedures, Traceability Matrix, and Report documents, as well as prototype test execution. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Student working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Software Engineering for entire duration of internship. THE OPPORTUNITY

Silvus is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Automated Test Design Engineer that will report to the VP of Engineering on the Engineering team. The successful individual in this role will be able to design and implement efficient and streamlined automated production line test setup and programs for wireless communication systems in a manufacturing environment.

The Manufacturing Automated Test Design Engineer position will be based at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles, CA and is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday.

The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.

 ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement comprehensive test plans to provide full coverage of wireless communication system feature sets
  • Design and implement logging and log analysis tools to capture performance of both the systems under test and the test infrastructure itself
  • Take ownership of production test station design, implementation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade; continuous improvement of manufacturing test efficiency.
  • Collaborate with RF and systems engineering teams to understand performance requirements and establish production tests and performance thresholds.
  • Partner with engineering and quality teams to validate new testing approaches for rollout to production.
  • Work closely with the software development team to augment production test systems to support rollout of new features and product configurations.
  • Basic manufacturing failure troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production failures escalated to engineering.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, manufacturing, or related technical field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant test engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience in wireless/networking or an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in at least one programming language (C/C++ or Python)
  • Proficient with RF instruments such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers
  • Demonstrated organization skill and the ability to manage multiple tasks including running multiple tests simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable about automatic test equipment (ATE) implementations.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
