Legal Secretary - Litigation
Location: Dallas, TX | ONSITE
Compensation & Schedule
• $65,000 annually
• Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Employment Type: W2
• Start Date: TBD
ROLE IMPACT:
The Legal Secretary plays a critical role in supporting litigation attorneys by managing court filings, maintaining case documentation, coordinating schedules, and ensuring deadlines are met. Success in this position means providing seamless administrative and legal support that allows attorneys to focus on client advocacy, case strategy, and achieving positive legal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, correspondence, and court filings
• Electronically file documents with state and federal courts and ensure compliance with filing requirements
• Manage attorney calendars, including court appearances, depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings
• Maintain case files, legal records, and litigation documentation in both electronic and physical formats
• Coordinate with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors regarding case-related matters
• Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness files, and supporting documentation
• Monitor and track litigation deadlines to ensure timely filings and responses
• Draft routine correspondence and legal documents from templates or attorney dictation
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary supporting litigation attorneys
• Experience with court filings, legal documentation, and case management processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Timekeeping and billing software
Preferred Skills
• Knowledge of Texas state and federal court procedures
• Strong understanding of legal terminology and litigation processes

• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality
