The Cardiomyopathy Center (CMC) is a 16 bed intermediate care unit specializing in the care of patients with advanced heart failure. This unit is comprised of both medical and surgical patients receiving inotropic support and diuresis, often requiring hemodynamic monitoring through a pulmonary artery catheter (PA catheter). Many of our patients are also being evaluated for heart transplants and ventricular assist device (VAD) surgery. The CMC also cares for the patients at Tufts Medical Center that are post-heart transplant and post-VAD surgery. Patients following surgery often have PA catheters, epicardial pacing wires, chest tubes. This position is (3) 12-hr. shifts per week on rotating shifts (days and overnights) with rotating weekends and holidays. Job Profile Summary This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician orders. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Nursing Support duties: Provides basic care services to patients, but does not have an RN or LPN license.
