Watershed Security is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer/DevOps Engineer to join our team, providing critical support for the CNIC Public Safety Systems (PSS) program. This role is crucial for integrating and advancing DevSecOps principles and practices throughout the software development lifecycle. You'll be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and secure CI/CD pipelines, leveraging cloud technologies and automation to streamline our operations from code to production. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and subject matter expertise in implementing DevSecOps principles and practices across the software development lifecycle.
  • Design, build, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, integrating them seamlessly with version control systems.
  • Implement advanced deployment strategies such as blue-green deployments, canary releases, and robust rollback mechanisms to ensure high availability and minimize risk.
  • Integrate and implement strong security measures and continuous monitoring throughout the CI/CD pipeline to maintain pipeline health and compliance.
  • Customize and optimize CI/CD infrastructure for optimal scalability and resource efficiency using self-managed runners.
  • Install and configure self-managed runners, and execute cloud-based jobs, including those on AWS (e.g., AWS S3 Jobs).
  • Streamline CI/CD automation, leveraging features from tools like GitLab and integrating with cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Simplify the development lifecycle from code inception to production deployment.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) methodologies for efficient and repeatable environment provisioning.
  • Ensure security and compliance across cloud and virtualization platforms, specifically AWS, VMware vSphere/ESXi, and Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in any technical or managerial discipline
  • Ten (10) years of direct work experience in computer design, software development or computer networks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance.
  • Report onsite in Norfolk, VA Monday – Friday 8am -4:30pm

PAY RANGE

Final salary is influenced by factors such as location, contract labor categories, experience, skills, education, and certifications. Watershed offers competitive compensation, medical and dental benefits, educational reimbursement, 401K plans with matching, 15 days of PTO to start and 11 paid holidays per year.   The proposed salary range for this position is: $140,000 - $170,000 USD
