You will help to own the product and user experience, working directly alongside our CTO. You Will: Lead the creation and execution of Lucid's development and deployment of complex and innovative software development and engineering for AI enablement and Machine Learning (ML) lifecycle solutions while ensuring scalability, efficiency, security, and robustness. Report to Lucid's CAIO and engage with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on the software engineering and software development lifecycle accelerations using AI tools and systems. Engage broadly within the organization to identify and prioritize requirements and align high-value AI/ML initiatives with business objectives. Define KPIs for evaluating the success of AI software enhancement products and developer enablement based on business impact and feasibility. Deploy and maintain hardware infrastructure for on-premises AI development and usage. Architect and develop AI/ML and data pipeline solutions using local and cloud services such as MS Azure, AWC, GCP. Utilize docker and Kubernetes for packaging and load balancing AI applications Setup and deploy tool servers for Agentic AI prototypes and production solutions. Design software interfaces for integrating AI with hardware in the loop (HIL) and simulation environments e.g. REST endpoints Maintain Agile planning and software development lifecycle (SDLC) with efficient code management practices. Collaborate with Data Science, Data Engineering, Cloud, Infrastructure and Commercial Teams to effectively execute the end-to-end AI product development lifecycle for secure, robust, and innovative AI product deployments for in-vehicle, SaaS, and enterprise AI applications. Keep effective communication with team members and stakeholders to ensure user and technical issues are promptly prioritized and resolved. Stay informed on emerging AI technologies, tools, and methodologies to inform product strategies and roadmaps. You Bring: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field with 12+ years of software development and engineering experience Strong knowledge and proficiency in Python, ML Frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc. Direct experience leading and deploying large-scale machine learning models with a focus in Generative AI, LLMs, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic systems. Proven track record of leading software development projects from design to implementation through scaling and maintenance. Highly technical with a solid understanding of AI-IDE technologies, frameworks, and use cases with a deep understanding of software development for AI/ML products. Expertise and deep domain knowledge in data generation, data management, synthetic data creation, and the utilization thereof for model training and robust AI product deployments in complex environments with multisensory data acquisition. Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated critical thinking capabilities Technical experience to weigh tradeoffs and to have in depth discussions with scientists and engineers on the nuances of complex software and simulation systems. The Day-to-Day

  • Design, develop, and deploy CDN configurations that ensure high availability, performance, and scalability across diverse customer environments (eCommerce, media, presence, etc.).

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on networking and cloud security best practices, including edge computing technologies.

  • Implement, maintain, and consult on edge security solutions-such as WAFs, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)-to protect against external threats.

  • Stay current on emerging cloud and edge technologies, security trends, and industry best practices to strengthen WP Engine's cloud security posture.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into our edge networking solutions and ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Enhance observability services to improve feedback loops and aid in troubleshooting and performance monitoring.

  • Work closely with Product Management to ensure engineering efforts deliver measurable customer value.

Your Expertise

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.

  • 7+ years of hands-on software development experience in CDN engineering, networking, or cloud platform functions.

  • Deep knowledge of HTTP technologies, including reverse proxies (e.g., WAF, CDN) and forward proxies (e.g., secure web gateways).

  • Strong experience developing in Go (primary language used on the team).

  • Additional experience in Python and Ruby is a plus.

  • Experience with cloud and containerized technologies- GCP, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker.

  • Proven ability to design and troubleshoot complex, scalable network and security systems.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

  • Demonstrated track record of building resilient, enterprise-grade distributed systems.

  • Experience with large-scale public cloud deployments.
