ABOUT THE JOB We're looking for a Front End Mission Software Engineer to join our growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will solve a wide variety of problems involving networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and more, while making pragmatic engineering tradeoffs along the way. Your efforts will ensure that Anduril products seamlessly work together to achieve a variety of critical outcomes. The Counter Intrusion team builds our Sentry Towers. Sentry uses artificial intelligence to provide highly accurate, persistent autonomous awareness across land, sea and air. With an AI-enabled edge processing, continuous 360 pan / tilt and a variety of radars and sensors, Sentry can autonomously identify, detect and track objects of interest to bring increased security to borders, military bases, oil and gas pipelines, airports and other critical infrastructure. WHAT YOU'LL DO Design, build, and deploy a real-time, map-based interface for displaying and interacting with sensor data and commanding physical assets Fetch and manage large streams of data while maintaining performant rendering in a low-friction user experience Build and design immersive image-viewing experiences in a web-based platform Partner with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints Travel up to 30% of time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 6+ years of relevant experience Degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering or related technical degree Experience building scalable and responsive web-based user interfaces. The estimated hiring range for this role is $112,500 - $150,000 (plus applicable bonus/plus equity). This hiring range could vary by region based upon local market data. We're looking for a Front End Mission Software Engineer to join our growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will solve a wide variety of problems involving networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and more, while making pragmatic engineering tradeoffs along the way. Your efforts will ensure that Anduril products seamlessly work together to achieve a variety of critical outcomes. Above all, Mission Software Engineers are driven by a "Whatever It Takes" mindset-executing in an expedient, scalable, and pragmatic way while keeping the mission top-of-mind and making sound engineering decisions to deliver successful outcomes correctly, on-time, and with high quality.

The Counter Intrusion team builds our Sentry Towers. Sentry uses artificial intelligence to provide highly accurate, persistent autonomous awareness across land, sea and air. With an AI-enabled edge processing, continuous 360 pan / tilt and a variety of radars and sensors, Sentry can autonomously identify, detect and track objects of interest to bring increased security to borders, military bases, oil and gas pipelines, airports and other critical infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design, build, and deploy a real-time, map-based interface for displaying and interacting with sensor data and commanding physical assets
  • Fetch and manage large streams of data while maintaining performant rendering in a low-friction user experience
  • Build and design immersive image-viewing experiences in a web-based platform
  • Partner with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints
  • Travel up to 30% of time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering or related technical degree
  • Experience building scalable and responsive web-based user interfaces.
  • Experience working on frontend applications
  • Proficiency with a programming language such as Javascript or Typescript
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

US Salary Range

$168,000-$252,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
