The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department within Grand Valley State University’s Padnos College of Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to start in August 2026, subject to funding approval.This position will support the continued growth of GVSU’s Electrical and Computer Engineering department. The Computer Engineering Program offers ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) degrees as well as a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) degree. The BSE program includes mandatory co-operative education and an extensive experiential learning component. The MSE program emphasizes professional practice as well as applied research. Partly sponsored by local industry, our programs yield industry prepared or graduate school-ready engineering graduates in support of diversified industries and research institutions.The new hire will be expected to engage in high-quality mentoring and teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, contribute to an environment of inclusive excellence, develop a research program that includes both undergraduate and graduate students as well as external funding, and participate in departmental and professional service. Priority will be given to applicants with teaching and industrial experience as well as experience related to project management. Required Qualifications and Education: Doctoral degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to delivering high-quality laboratory and project-based teaching. Expertise with electronic instrumentation and proficiency in C and Python programming. The Computer Engineering Program offers ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) degrees as well as a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) degree. The BSE program includes mandatory co-operative education and an extensive experiential learning component. The MSE program emphasizes professional practice as well as applied research.
