EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE: Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field required. Two years’ experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight CAD software and SolidWorks CAD software. Minimum of two years’ teaching experience preferred, preferably at the college level. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one, in small groups, and in classroom situations. Proficient in word-processing and presentation software, internet, and e-mail. Computer Engineers perform a variety of engineering analysis, software, hardware, video, telecom, or network development, integration, testing, and maintenance tasks for purposes of integrating hardware and software products into the customer environments or stand-alone networks. Identify and resolve a full range of complex computer engineering problems. Define, collect and implement computer engineering customer requirements for projects. Design and perform complex installations and configurations of software and hardware products. Participate in discussions on component procedures and practices, and interface with other components. Responsibilities: Receives tracks and responds to problems reported by customers (e.g. problems impacting multiple users, such as a platform outage). Communicates with customers, IT service providers, and technical components to fully understand problems. POSITION SUMMARY:Engages students in the teaching/learning process; works assigned schedule, represents the College in the community, and performs other related duties as required.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (no more than 12):
  • Plans and teaches CAD courses (introductory 2-D drawings/advanced drafting and dimensioning techniques/complex orthographic and isometric drawings) that fulfill the current curriculum goals and objectives on campus, in a traditional classroom format.  Online CAD course instruction is not currently needed, but could be a future option as well.
  • Remains current with subject matter and instructional methodology.
  • Employs appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
  • Communicates progress in the course to students in a timely manner. 
  • Determines and submits students' grades in accordance with established College policies and procedures.
  • Supports the mission of the program, division, and College.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field required.
  • Two years’ experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight CAD software and SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Minimum of two years’ teaching experience preferred, preferably at the college level.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one, in small groups, and in classroom situations.
  • Proficient in word-processing and presentation software, internet, and e-mail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of students.
  • Capability to teach in more than one discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise students. 
  • Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work a combination of days/evening/weekend schedules.
