Work Where It's Best for You Work Anywhere means you can work in an office or at home on any given day. It's about getting the work done in the way and place that works best for each person. This applies across all locations and departments. Work Anywhere does not mean work at any time. We have predictable core hours where employees are generally available for meetings and collaboration. Employees are focused and available during core hours. We invest in our offices to make them places where our employees like to go. If you work in the office three or more days a week, you will have a dedicated office workspace. Our offices function as hubs to draw people in, create social bonds, and where random connections and mixing of ideas happen. We're investing more in offices, culture, and offsite meetings, not less. Product teams are organized in regional product hubs for optimal collaboration and live within a time zone of their hub. Our current product hubs are located in Pleasanton, Columbus, Boston, Kansas City, New York City, Raleigh, and Toronto. We create opportunities for teams to get together in person regularly. Customer-facing roles, such as Sales and Professional Services, live near and/or travel to their customers. When an employee moves within a country it does not cause a change in salary. Where you live impacts you and your family. Not knowing if your compensation will change if you move can cause stress and uncertainty for everyone. We wanted to eliminate that. Work at Veeva. Software Engineer, Safeguards-logo
AnthropicSan Francisco, CA
About Anthropic Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role: We are looking for software engineers to help build safety and oversight mechanisms for our AI systems. As a software engineer on the Safeguards team, you will work to monitor models, prevent misuse, and ensure user well-being. This role will focus on building systems to detect unwanted model behaviors and prevent disallowed use of models. You will apply your technical skills to uphold our principles of safety, transparency, and oversight while enforcing our terms of service and acceptable use policies. Responsibilities: Develop monitoring systems to detect unwanted behaviors from our API partners and potentially take automated enforcement actions; surface these in internal dashboards to analysts for manual review Build abuse detection mechanisms and infrastructure Surface abuse patterns to our research teams to harden models at the training stage Build robust and reliable multi-layered defenses for real-time improvement of safety mechanisms that work at scale Analyze user reports of inappropriate content or accounts You may be a good fit if you: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or comparable experience 3-10+ years of experience in a software engineering position, preferably with a focus on integrity, spam, fraud, or abuse detection. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data analysis tools. Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Strong candidates may also: Have experience building trust and safety mechanisms for AI/ML systems, such as fraud detection models or security monitoring tools or the infrastructure to support these systems at scale Have experience with machine learning frameworks like Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow, or Pytorch, and experience building machine learning models Have experience with prompt engineering, jailbreak attacks, and other adversarial inputs Have worked closely with operational teams to build custom internal tooling Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The expected salary range for this position is: Annual Salary: $300,000-$405,000 USD Logistics Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact - advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI - rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. Job Description

About Clear Street:

Clear Street is modernizing the brokerage ecosystem. Founded in 2018, Clear Street is a diversified financial services firm replacing the legacy infrastructure used across capital markets.

We started from scratch by building a completely cloud-native clearing and custody system designed for today's complex, global market. Clear Street's proprietary prime brokerage platform adds significant efficiency to the market, while focusing on minimizing risk, redundancy, and cost for clients. Our goal is to create a single source-of-truth platform for every asset class, in every country, and in any currency.

By combining highly-skilled product and engineering talent with seasoned finance professionals, we are building the essentials to compete in today's fast-paced markets.

The Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Clear Street Frontend team, you'll help architect and build the next generation of Clear Street Active, our high-performance trading platform tailored for active traders. The platform integrates real-time market data, low-latency execution workflows, and advanced trading tools into a performant, responsive web interface. You'll collaborate with a cross-functional team on large-scale initiatives that deliver high-impact solutions and shape the future of our prime brokerage experience.

The Team:

You will work with a team of talented, passionate and highly collaborative engineers. Working together, we have built a platform that serves institutional clients and is at the forefront of technological innovation. Our engineers take pride in not just the value we provide our customers but the quality of our work. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and make a meaningful impact on the financial industry. We value creativity, innovation, strong work ethics, and we are committed to providing our team members with the support and resources they need to succeed.

Tech Stack: Typescript, React, Next.js, NodeJS

Requirements:

  • You have at least eight (8) years of professional experience implementing web applications.
  • 3+ years of experience working with modern web technologies, including demonstrated success at a Senior or higher Engineer level
  • Expertise in building and maintaining high-performance, scalable web applications using TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js
  • You prioritize end user experience, and it shows in your APIs design, functionality, and performance.
  • You have a strong command over design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
  • You like working in a team first environment.
  • You take pride in the quality of your work and hold yourself to a high standard.
  • Passion for creating a best-in-class developer experience, with an eye for tooling, performance, and maintainability
  • Bonus: Experience with build tools and compilers such as Babel, Webpack, or Bazel

We Offer:

  • The opportunity to join a small and growing team of good people, where you can make a difference.
  • A meritocratic philosophy that champions collaboration.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and perks.

The Base Salary Range for this role is $170,000 - $240,000. This range is representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Clear Street. Where a candidate falls in this range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. This range represents Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The range stated does not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.

At Clear Street, we offer competitive compensation packages, company equity, 401k matching, gender neutral parental leave, and full medical, dental and vision insurance. In-office benefits include lunch stipends, fully stocked kitchens, happy hours, a great location, and amazing views.

Our top priority is our people. We're continuously investing in a culture that promotes collaboration. We help each other through challenges and celebrate each other's successes. We believe that modern workplaces succeed by virtue of having high-performance workforces that are diverse - in ideas, in cultures, and in experiences. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and put in the effort to make such a workplace a daily reality. #LI-Hybrid
