Ascertains and orders materials necessary for the completion of projects and to HVAC shop minimum operating inventories Assigns, leads and performs HVAC preventive maintenance work and repairs: These include fire systems, ice machines, monitoring and remediation of legionella, building automation, chillers, towers, heating and cooling systems, valves, and pumps. In order to comply with codes and standards; fire dampers, negative / positive pressure, humidity / temperatures and air balancing. Reads and works from blueprints, sketches, welds, silver solders as required, in order to complete work load. Assists with inspections by Abington Township, State of Pennsylvania and other inspectors, to ensure hospital meets codes and standards. Assists on Fire and Disaster teams, as needed and assigned. Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make Abington – Jefferson Health (AJH) the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees.

Assigns and leads the work HVAC mechanics, plans installation of new equipment, repair of existing equipment, inspects, maintains and repairs piping, HVAC, changing of temperatures and Monitor building controls systems.  Oversees vendor contracts such as chiller plant and building automation, ensuring that critical HVAC equipment is operational.

This include quality assurance of work by people within crew. Trouble shoots HVAC and refrigeration problems, assists mechanics in problem resolution for equipment failures. Investigate customer complaints related to the environment of care.

Ascertains and orders materials necessary for the completion of projects and to HVAC shop minimum operating inventories

Assigns, leads and performs HVAC preventive maintenance work and repairs: These include fire systems, ice machines, monitoring and remediation of legionella, building automation, chillers, towers, heating and cooling systems, valves, and pumps.

In order to comply with codes and standards; fire dampers, negative / positive pressure, humidity / temperatures and air balancing.

Reads and works from blueprints, sketches, welds, silver solders as required, in order to complete work load.

Assists with inspections by Abington Township, State of Pennsylvania and other inspectors, to ensure hospital meets codes and standards. Assists on Fire and Disaster teams, as needed and assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Sense of responsibility.  Subject to alternating shift work.  Work ON-Call. Ability to perform a variety of activities according to specific assignment. Professional appearance. Must possess a driving record free from major violations within the past five years, and maintain an acceptable driving record with no major violations in accordance with Motor Vehicle Regulations and AJH’s auto insurance policy in order to operate an AJH owned vehicle.  Any and all major violations incurred must be immediately reported to the manager, department head, or Human Resources department.
