Several years later the couple returned to St. Mary's County with their new family and founded Winters Sheet Metal in 1948, housing the business in a tobacco barn on the property of Dorothy's family in Drayden, MD, a member of the Knott family. The following year the operation was relocated to land purchased along Route 5 in Redgate, where it remains decades later, providing the Southern Maryland community with quality heating and air conditioning service and products.

Job Qualifications: High school graduate and graduate of a post-secondary HVAC program of instruction of two or more years in duration. Five or more years of successful and full-time HVAC experience, either as a commercial service or commercial installation technician. Good oral and reading skills, including the ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions and to clearly communicate with residential, commercial and industrial customers, suppliers, and other employees. Physical ability to perform all duties noted above under the conditions, circumstances and extreme weather. Current driver's license and the ability to operate all vehicles in the corporate fleet Interest, initiative and ability to be trained in low-key point-of-service sales techniques, including developing sales leads, sales of unit replacements, add-on units, IAQ services, and service contracts. Ability to work under pressure of time, non-standard schedule, supervision considerations, weather, customer needs, and backlog constraints. Physical Demands Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, and various other HVAC equipment. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. This position requires: stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those of medium work. Work Environment This job operates primarily alone on HVAC and boiler equipment in all environments, which includes extreme cold or heat depending on the time of year. As a Residential HVAC Installer at AA Service Co., you will play a vital role in our mission to provide superior HVAC installations for our residential customers. Working in a crew of two, alongside an Install Apprentice, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently installing HVAC systems while upholding the highest standards of craftsmanship and customer service.

Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a consistently high level of installation quality, as evaluated through post-installation inspections and customer feedback.
    • Achieve a first-time installation success rate as established by the Installation Manager, ensuring minimal revisits or callbacks due to installation-related issues.
    • Provide effective mentorship and guidance to the Install Apprentice, contributing to their skill development and ensuring a positive learning experience.
    • Demonstrate excellent communication skills when interacting with customers during installations. Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor while representing AA Service Co. during installations, earning high marks for professionalism from customers.
    • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of installation details, equipment used, and any modifications in Service Titan.
    • Monitor and track the progress of the Install Apprentice, providing regular feedback and opportunities for growth and skill advancement.
    • Maintain a consistent record of punctuality and attendance, arriving at installation sites and appointments on time.
