Our R&D team is expanding rapidly to grow organically in the HVAC area of water heating both in domestic water heating and space heating, unitary (A coil and furnace), AHU, VRF, FCU and Chiller product portfolio. On this team you will work closely with the LGE R&D team in Korea for ODM activities, and internal design and development for HVAC accessories and components. What You’ll Do: • New LG NPI Product Development Support • Work cross-functionally with team members from sales, manufacturing and program managers to ensure completion of product launch on time using NPI process • Evaluate go to market strategy and review technical documents for proper launch geared toward North America market that includes US and Canada • Work closely with the project team to assure sound engineering principles in the product design and benchmark against competitors for guidance on improvement and performance • Provide Engineering insight and improvement solution for new product development • Screen and analyze new product performance provide recommendations for next steps • Statistically evaluate and interpret collected product data • Evaluate and analyze data collected from field-based testing data using statistical approach • Review shortcomings and faults of current design to pinpoint weaknesses and improvement points • Possess a deep understanding of acquisition hardware/software to create acquisition models for lab purposes • Take an active role in preparation for service manual, installation manual and engineering manual for US commercialization after product launch Job Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering • 8+ years of experience HVAC, water heating, and/ or unitary products • Experience with VRF, Acoil, AHU, FCU, Chiller is strongly preferred • Working knowledge of vapor compression and heat transfer principles related to HVAC system • Experience in design and development of evaporators, condensing units, and/or heat exchangers for residential and commercial applications • Exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability • Experience with one of the following agency certifications (CSA, UL, or DOE) is a plus • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal problem solving and analytical skills • 3D CAD software knowledge and interpreting drawings with knowledge in GD&T • Proficient, high-level skills in Microsoft Power Point and Excel Recruiting Range $127,000 - $138,000 USD Benefits Offered Full-Time Employees: No-cost employee premiums for you and your eligible dependents for competitive medical, dental, vision and prescription benefits. Job Description

Responsibilities

  • When provided with the necessary service literature, has the technical expertise to service, perform maintenance and repair most:
     

    • DX equipment up to 100 tons

    • Packaged, water-cooled AC units up to 150 tons

    • Water source heat pumps and associated equipment

    • Computer room type units with self-contained humidifiers and controls

    • Gas fired and electric heating systems found in commercial equipment up to 150 tons

    • Pneumatic, electronic and modular DDC control systems generally associated with commercial HVAC systems

    • Air handling equipment including VAV systems typically found in larger commercial systems
       

  • Starts system, observes operation, reads gauges and instruments and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature in system

  • Provides repair of requested equipment which includes replacement or adjustment of defective or work parts/components in order to return systems to fully operational

  • Performs proper evaluation and diagnosis of malfunctioning equipment at customer sites; which may include bringing questionable situations with equipment and/or customers to the immediate supervisor's attention

  • Performs site start-up services for newly installed commercial equipment

  • Consistently contacts base after each call, keeping the dispatcher informed at all time as to your job status, checking in at the end of the day and getting next day job assignment before leaving for the day

  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance services as determined by customer

  • Performs cleaning of condenser and evaporator coils, fan and ductwork

  • Inspects, adjusts and replaces fan belts on motors

  • Installs wiring to connect components to electric power source

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; express excellent communication and customer service skills; demonstrate strong initiative; and ability to work in both a team and individual environment, while consistently adhering to Operating Procedures and ensuring customer satisfaction.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • High School or Trade School Graduate or GED

  • Holds a Universal Refrigerant Card (Type I or Universal)

  • At least 10 years of commercial experience

  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level determined by management

  • Must maintain a flexible working schedule, including weekend on call rotation for stand by emergency service per rotation schedule

  • Appearance must be clean and neat at all times

  • Truck and all equipment must be clean at all times

  • Abide by safety rules and regulations, including courteous and defensive driving

  • Responsible for maintaining company tools in accordance with company policies and procedures
