As an HVAC Technical Service Advisor, you will provide technical expertise and guidance in support of the outside sales and field teams. The advisor utilizes their HVAC equipment product knowledge, independent judgment and discretion to further successful projects involving residential and commercial HVAC systems. This position will cover the Louisiana, Mississippi and the Florida Pan Handle areas. This position can be based out of Louisiana or Mississippi. If you have prior experience as an HVAC field installer, service technician, trainer, this is an excellent opportunity for you. Responsibilities: Uses advanced knowledge of HVAC systems to provide technical guidance to outside sales teams on residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Analyzes project requirements and performs site assessments to recommend the best product selections for customer needs using advanced knowledge, discretion, and independent judgment in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Build and maintain working relationships with sales associates, technicians, and customers to ensure satisfaction and adherence to safety standards and industry best practices. Maintains certifications needed to conduct and participate in product training and demonstrations for internal teams and clients to drive proper product knowledge to gain certification for successful projects. Uses advanced knowledge to provide technical training to both internal associates and external customers/dealers as required. Handles complex HVAC issues requiring specialized knowledge and skills to diagnose and resolve problems in partnership with senior specialists and vendors. Utilize XOI software to document and track all interactions and issues related to customer technical issues. Provides technical expertise and guidance, using advanced HVAC knowledge, including professional development to build confidence in the field. Addresses customer issues timely and responds with the appropriate urgency to customers' calls, emails and other communications. Qualifications Degree from an accredited HVAC school or certificate of completion from HVAC technical courses preferred 3-5 years of hands-on HVAC experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience, preferred Understanding of the installation and service of residential and light commercial HVAC equipment, such as furnace, air conditioning, and residential ductless, is required HVAC Field service, technical support, or certified trainer experience is preferred Strong computer proficiency including use of Microsoft applications and virtual meeting tools, required Ability to build PowerPoint presentations and coordinate, facilitate, and lead in-person and remote training sessions, needed Ability to effectively multi-task and handle deadlines Willing to travel 25 - 30 nights per year A positive attitude, passion, and ambition to succeed Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to learn quickly At Ferguson, we care for each other. Completes Work Orders promptly and efficiently to perform preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance procedures, service, and repairs on automated systems. Assists Mechanical Systems Supervisor/ Facilities Manager with building and service specifications modifications to building maintenance and HVAC systems to help improve operation, maintenance, safety, and reliability. Occasional indirect supervision of staff in the absence of the Mechanical Systems Supervisor is a resource for other technicians and staff to become more knowledgeable and proficient in the building systems and their operation. At least 5 years of experience with computer based building management systems. Demonstrated ability to complete complex repairs using advanced diagnostic and repair skills for commercial mechanical systems (pumps, seals, actuators, etc.), DDC, and pneumatic controls, and extensive knowledge of commercial HVAC systems. Demonstrated technical proficiency in the service and repair of split refrigeration systems. An advanced understanding of building and equipment schematics and diagrams. Technical experience and working knowledge of building management systems. High School Diploma or equivalent; or advanced education: Vo-Tech Certification in HVAC and Refrigeration. Possession of a current Massachusetts Journeyman level license in HVAC and Refrigeration is required The pay rate for this position is $42.00 to $52.00 per hour, depending on experience. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) registration is a plus. 10+ years of experience in Mechanical/Plumbing design (pertaining to building systems design/design-build). Experience in renovations of older mechanical systems and controls is a plus. Comprehension of building and design regulations and working in codes and standards across multiple jurisdictions and AHJs including but not limited to government agency design guides and standards, ASHRAE, NFPA, ICC, and Uniform Codes. As an HVAC Technical Service Advisor, you will provide technical expertise and guidance in support of the outside sales and field teams. The advisor utilizes their HVAC equipment product knowledge, independent judgment and discretion to further successful projects involving residential and commercial HVAC systems.

This position will cover the Louisiana, Mississippi and the Florida Pan Handle areas. This position can be based out of Louisiana or Mississippi.

Responsibilities:

  • Uses advanced knowledge of HVAC systems to provide technical guidance to outside sales teams on residential and light commercial HVAC systems.

  • Analyzes project requirements and performs site assessments to recommend the best product selections for customer needs using advanced knowledge, discretion, and independent judgment in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Build and maintain working relationships with sales associates, technicians, and customers to ensure satisfaction and adherence to safety standards and industry best practices.

  • Maintains certifications needed to conduct and participate in product training and demonstrations for internal teams and clients to drive proper product knowledge to gain certification for successful projects.

  • Uses advanced knowledge to provide technical training to both internal associates and external customers/dealers as required.

  • Handles complex HVAC issues requiring specialized knowledge and skills to diagnose and resolve problems in partnership with senior specialists and vendors.

  • Utilize XOI software to document and track all interactions and issues related to customer technical issues.

  • Provides technical expertise and guidance, using advanced HVAC knowledge, including professional development to build confidence in the field.

  • Addresses customer issues timely and responds with the appropriate urgency to customers' calls, emails and other communications.

Qualifications

  • Degree from an accredited HVAC school or certificate of completion from HVAC technical courses preferred
  • 3-5 years of hands-on HVAC experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience, preferred
  • Understanding of the installation and service of residential and light commercial HVAC equipment, such as furnace, air conditioning, and residential ductless, is required
  • HVAC Field service, technical support, or certified trainer experience is preferred
  • Strong computer proficiency including use of Microsoft applications and virtual meeting tools, required
  • Ability to build PowerPoint presentations and coordinate, facilitate, and lead in-person and remote training sessions, needed
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and handle deadlines
  • Willing to travel 25 - 30 nights per year
