Job Summary: Nicholas development is currently looking for a dedicated Commercial HVAC/R Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial settings. The primary objective is to ensure the efficient operation of these systems while meeting environmental and safety standards specific to the commercial spaces they serve. Responsibilities: Installation: Responsible for installing WSHP, package and split heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in new commercial buildings or upgrading existing systems. This involves understanding equipment specifications, following blueprints, and ensuring proper system integration. Some travel may be required. Maintenance: Conduct inspections, clean components, replace filters, and perform preventive measures to prevent breakdowns and reduce energy consumption. Repair: Diagnose issues and perform repairs, including troubleshooting electrical components, fixing leaks, replacing faulty parts, and restoring systems to proper working condition. Environmental Regulations: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards, including responsible handling of refrigerants and designing systems to minimize environmental impact. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all installations, maintenance, and repairs. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent education/work experience At least 5 years of experience in the field or related area Hands on skills and knowledge to complete required repairs and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems (including, pumps, motors, air handlers, automation/controls systems, and associated electrical systems) using industry standard tools and in accordance with all applicable codes, laws, and regulations. Excellent communications skills both verbally and in writing Ability to effectively manage diverse relationships with team members, contractors, building occupants, and clients. Assist in the new construction installation of HVAC equipment and piping. Keeps current all manufacturers’ products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair. Apply local HVAC codes in a practical manner on each job. Work with inspectors, suppliers, and co-worker technicians to ensure correct project work while abiding by all codes. Provide excellent customer service. Education: High school diploma/GED.  Experience: Willing to be registered through the local union. 5 years’ service experience specific to Commercial and Industrial HVAC.  Experience with chillers and boilers a plus Valid Driver’s License. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics. Strong knowledge of HVAC, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. Job Summary:

Nicholas development is currently looking for a dedicated Commercial HVAC/R Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial settings. The primary objective is to ensure the efficient operation of these systems while meeting environmental and safety standards specific to the commercial spaces they serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Responsible for installing WSHP, package and split heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in new commercial buildings or upgrading existing systems. This involves understanding equipment specifications, following blueprints, and ensuring proper system integration. Some travel may be required.
  • Maintenance: Conduct inspections, clean components, replace filters, and perform preventive measures to prevent breakdowns and reduce energy consumption.
  • Repair: Diagnose issues and perform repairs, including troubleshooting electrical components, fixing leaks, replacing faulty parts, and restoring systems to proper working condition.
  • Environmental Regulations: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards, including responsible handling of refrigerants and designing systems to minimize environmental impact.
  • Customer Service: Interact with clients to understand their HVAC/R needs, provide recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all installations, maintenance, and repairs. This includes documenting work orders, parts used, and other relevant information for record-keeping and future reference.
  • Training: Stay updated on the latest HVAC/R technologies, techniques, and regulations through continuous training and professional development.
  • Emergencies: Respond to emergency situations promptly, especially in critical system failure scenarios, and demonstrate quick and effective problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education/work experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field or related area
  • Hands on skills and knowledge to complete required repairs and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems (including, pumps, motors, air handlers, automation/controls systems, and associated electrical systems) using industry standard tools and in accordance with all applicable codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent communications skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to effectively manage diverse relationships with team members, contractors, building occupants, and clients.
  • Ability to reliably transport self and supplies to various work sites.
