At least 5 years of experience with computer based building management systems. Demonstrated ability to complete complex repairs using advanced diagnostic and repair skills for commercial mechanical systems (pumps, seals, actuators, etc.), DDC, and pneumatic controls, and extensive knowledge of commercial HVAC systems. Demonstrated technical proficiency in the service and repair of split refrigeration systems. An advanced understanding of building and equipment schematics and diagrams. Technical experience and working knowledge of building management systems. High School Diploma or equivalent; or advanced education: Vo-Tech Certification in HVAC and Refrigeration. Possession of a current Massachusetts Journeyman level license in HVAC and Refrigeration is required The pay rate for this position is $42.00 to $52.00 per hour, depending on experience. Document job delays and issues (in writing or by email) with GC and project executive. Notify project executive of any potential change orders and assist with change order requests as needed. Assist project executive with progress billings based on status of work completed. Thoroughly review weekly job cost and discuss specific cost items with field crews. Monitor piping and sheet metal labor cost to meet estimated cost. Monitor piping and sheet metal material cost to meet estimated cost. Provide written explanation when actual job cost deviates from estimated job cost. Review preliminary coordination drawings and recommend revisions prior to distribution to the field. HVAC Technicians on the NAS Patuxent River team come from all areas of the Tri County of Southern Maryland including California, Ridge, Hollywood, Mechanicsville, Leonardtown, Waldorf, Laplata, Lusby, Solomons. Specializing in commercial HVAC, the Technician performs maintenance, repair, replacement, and modernization of HVAC systems in order to achieve regulated climatic conditions. Position requires the Technician has extensive knowledge of HVAC principles and the ability to recognize and determine the most efficient method for diagnosing, testing and correcting malfunctions. The EMI HVAC Technician must be a Current Licensed Journeyman with an EPA Certification and has the skill level to make repairs on a variety of systems.
