Equipment includes boilers, water tower, air handlers, VAV units, fan coil units, air cooled chillers, geothermal systems, water-water heat pumps, water-air heat pumps, water/glycol circulation pumps, kitchen refrigeration equipment. Develop and plan preventative maintenance procedures in the eWorkOrders system Evaluate and execute work assignments through proper use of tools, and equipment Verify that equipment is in safe and proper operating condition Work directly with suppliers and contractors to support procurement of materials and services necessary to support operations and maintenance activities Perform or assist additional maintenance tasks as required (plumbing, construction, painting, grounds) Perform other duties, as assigned Requirements Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent certification Advanced understanding of HVAC/R systems and equipment, including ability to quickly and accurately troubleshoot and repair these systems. Position Purpose:

The Inns of Aurora Resort and Spa is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician who will work throughout our world-class resort.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for their work, and a commitment to keeping equipment running to support our team in ensuring the best possible experience for our guests.

Under the direction of the Buildings and Grounds Manager, the Facilities HVAC/R Technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, and other equipment throughout the Inns of Aurora properties.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Maintain HVAC, refrigeration, and other building systems and conduct repairs when necessary.  Equipment includes boilers, water tower, air handlers, VAV units, fan coil units, air cooled chillers, geothermal systems, water-water heat pumps, water-air heat pumps, water/glycol circulation pumps, kitchen refrigeration equipment.
  • Develop and plan preventative maintenance procedures in the eWorkOrders system
  • Evaluate and execute work assignments through proper use of tools, and equipment
  • Verify that equipment is in safe and proper operating condition
  • Work directly with suppliers and contractors to support procurement of materials and services necessary to support operations and maintenance activities
  • Perform or assist additional maintenance tasks as required (plumbing, construction, painting, grounds)
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • Advanced understanding of HVAC/R systems and equipment, including ability to quickly and accurately troubleshoot and repair these systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Ability to read and interpret building electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting with internal staff as well as outside vendors
  • Working knowledge of safe work practices, methods and procedures, including LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, Fall Protection
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, verbally and written
  • A friendly and professional work ethic and demeanor
  • Basic computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, & be on-call as work dictates
  • Must be able to work from an elevated position using ladders and/or electric lifts
  • Must be able to lift & carry 50lbs

PREFERENCES

  • Five plus years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC/R equipment
  • 2-year HVAC Trade School, or Associates degree in Technical discipline preferred
  • Experience operating and programming a Building Management System, preferably Automated Logic – WebCTRL
  • Willingness to work a shift other than Monday-Friday

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver’s license and proven record of observing legal and defensive driving practices, as verified by the NYS Lens Program
  • Current EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification
