JOB SUMMARY Under limited supervision, the Security Officer provides security and protection of work site(s), personnel and assets at the Chugach Electric southcentral power generation facility located near Minnesota Parkway and International Airport Road in Anchorage. Enforces site-specific security and safety measures, performs regular patrols of assigned premises, and responds to incidents based on established standard operational procedures. The schedule for this position is a 2x2 week rotation, working a 12-hour shift. Housing and transportation are not provided. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 21 years of age High school diploma or GED Minimum 3 years of experience in law enforcement, military police, corrections, or private security Ability to read, write and speak English Valid driver's license. A reliable means of transportation and communication. Alaska State Unarmed Security Officer License or able to obtain within established timeframe. First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or able to obtain within 120 days after hired Must be able to complete minimum job training requirements (provided by the company) including OC Pepper Spray, Arrests and Handcuffing, Defensive Driving, and other. As a condition of employment, must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check, drug test (including marijuana), and a post-offer physical/fitness for duty evaluation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Deliver security services in accordance with the approved facility security plan, site-specific standard operating procedures (SOP), and post orders. Provide protection of work site, personnel and assets from such events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment and other disruptive incidents. Perform searches of people, vehicles, buildings, and large outdoor areas. Exercise sound judgment in determining appropriate action when there is a reasonable suspicion to detain, when probable cause exists to search and arrest, and when force may be used and to what degree. Affect an arrest, if necessary, using handcuffs and assist management and law enforcement officials in emergency situations as needed. Comprehend, evaluate, and correctly respond to oral information received from a wide variety of sources such as supervisors, witnesses, victims, or through a variety of other means such as personal statements, or telephone/radio transmissions. Conduct visual surveillance for extended periods of time and control access of personnel, materials and equipment to and within the work site. Respond to general alarms, power outages, broken water/power lines, suspicious activity or security breaches of any kind. Extinguish fires by using a fire extinguisher and other appropriate means. Process visitors and produce access badges, monitor traffic and parking, may operate and monitor CCTV equipment. Understand and employ appropriate safety measures working in close proximity to high voltage electricity and/or highly flammable/caustic materials (natural gas, diesel, ammonia, glycol). Conduct regular and random patrols (by foot or vehicle) of buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure that they are properly secured. Conduct incident investigations and complete appropriate documentation/reports. Effectively and coherently communicate over radio channels while initiating and responding to radio communications. Complete all company and job required documentation (i.e. Daily Security Reports, Incident Reports, Time-Cards, etc.) accurately and timely. Must comply with established grooming, dress code and uniform requirements. Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professionalism, maintain regular and punctual attendance. Complete all company/client required training including but not limited to OC Pepper Spray, Arrests and Handcuffing, Defensive Training, First Aid/CPR/AED, etc. Safely operate a motor vehicle in a variety of settings and varying weather conditions. Maintain composure and control in stressful situations and/or emergency situations and perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies and disasters per established procedures. Ability to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours as business dictates. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide security automation strategies and frameworks ● Design, build, and run security automation solutions for AWS and on-premises environments, with a strong emphasis on Zero Trust principles, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, secure access controls, SIEM and XDR platforms. ● Partner with Engineering, DevOps, IT, and Compliance teams to ensure security automation adoption and security-by-default principles are embedded into infrastructure and applications ● Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to embed security automation into CI/CD workflows and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) processes ● Establish and enforce security best practices in containerized environments (e.g., EKS, ECS) and AI-enabled applications, including workload protection, runtime monitoring, and secrets management. ● Support the secure design, development, and deployment of AI/ML solutions and data pipelines, ensuring robust controls around model access, training data, and infrastructure ● Champion the use of security automation and playbooks using tools such as Python, Lambda, Terraform, and others to streamline security testing, threat detection, and remediation workflows. ● Evaluate and recommend security tools, platforms, and automation approaches that align with business goals and security requirements. ● Work closely with the Incident Response team to ensure security automation is enabled to efficiently address the current and emerging threat landscapes. ● Participate in design reviews, conduct threat modeling exercises, and contribute to architecture governance and decision-making processes. ● Influence the development of security policies and standards to align with industry best practices and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, NIST, CISA, FDA). ● Stay current on industry trends, emerging threats (including AI-driven threats), and technologies to continuously enhance the organization's security posture. ● Mentor and provide guidance to security engineers and developers on security automation and related AI technologies. Strategic Planning Collaborate with executive leadership to align physical security programs with organizational goals and risk management strategies. Maintain close relationships with high-level law enforcement, intelligence, and private sector counterparts in all regions, including international. Create and manage budgets for regional and event-related security operations, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources. Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for continuous improvement. Event Security Management Partner with internal teams (e.g., Legal, Facilities, HR, Communications) and external stakeholders (e.g., law enforcement, venues, vendors) to ensure secure event execution. Develop customized event security plans, including access control, credentialing, threat assessments, and incident response. Oversee security operations for VIPs, special guests, and company executives during public-facing or private events. Compliance & Investigations Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international security regulations and industry standards. Lead or support investigations involving physical security incidents and other physical security concerns. Maintain incident management systems and develop after-action reports for continuous learning. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Security Management, or a related field; master's preferred. Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in physical security operations, and law enforcement, including 5+ years in a leadership role. Proven experience managing multi-site security programs and leading regional teams. Extensive experience in event security operations, preferably for a global or high-profile organization. Familiarity with access control, CCTV, visitor management, GSOC integration, and other physical security systems and technologies. Strong knowledge of risk management, emergency preparedness, and crisis response. Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills. Ability to travel as needed (up to 20%). JOB SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, the Security Officer provides security and protection of work site(s), personnel and assets at the Chugach Electric southcentral power generation facility located near Minnesota Parkway and International Airport Road in Anchorage. Enforces site-specific security and safety measures, performs regular patrols of assigned premises, and responds to incidents based on established standard operational procedures.

The schedule for this position is a 2x2 week rotation, working a 12-hour shift. Housing and transportation are not provided.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in law enforcement, military police, corrections, or private security
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Valid driver's license. A reliable means of transportation and communication.
  • Alaska State Unarmed Security Officer License or able to obtain within established timeframe.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or able to obtain within 120 days after hired
  • Must be able to complete minimum job training requirements (provided by the company) including OC Pepper Spray, Arrests and Handcuffing, Defensive Driving, and other.
  • As a condition of employment, must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check, drug test (including marijuana), and a post-offer physical/fitness for duty evaluation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Deliver security services in accordance with the approved facility security plan, site-specific standard operating procedures (SOP), and post orders.
  • Provide protection of work site, personnel and assets from such events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment and other disruptive incidents.
  • Perform searches of people, vehicles, buildings, and large outdoor areas.
  • Exercise sound judgment in determining appropriate action when there is a reasonable suspicion to detain, when probable cause exists to search and arrest, and when force may be used and to what degree. Affect an arrest, if necessary, using handcuffs and assist management and law enforcement officials in emergency situations as needed.
  • Comprehend, evaluate, and correctly respond to oral information received from a wide variety of sources such as supervisors, witnesses, victims, or through a variety of other means such as personal statements, or telephone/radio transmissions.
  • Conduct visual surveillance for extended periods of time and control access of personnel, materials and equipment to and within the work site.
  • Respond to general alarms, power outages, broken water/power lines, suspicious activity or security breaches of any kind. Extinguish fires by using a fire extinguisher and other appropriate means.
  • Process visitors and produce access badges, monitor traffic and parking, may operate and monitor CCTV equipment.
  • Understand and employ appropriate safety measures working in close proximity to high voltage electricity and/or highly flammable/caustic materials (natural gas, diesel, ammonia, glycol).
  • Conduct regular and random patrols (by foot or vehicle) of buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure that they are properly secured.
  • Conduct incident investigations and complete appropriate documentation/reports.
  • Effectively and coherently communicate over radio channels while initiating and responding to radio communications.
  • Complete all company and job required documentation (i.e. Daily Security Reports, Incident Reports, Time-Cards, etc.) accurately and timely.
  • Must comply with established grooming, dress code and uniform requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professionalism, maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Complete all company/client required training including but not limited to OC Pepper Spray, Arrests and Handcuffing, Defensive Training, First Aid/CPR/AED, etc.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle in a variety of settings and varying weather conditions.
  • Maintain composure and control in stressful situations and/or emergency situations and perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies and disasters per established procedures.
  • Ability to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.
