Scopely is looking for a Principal Game Security Engineer on an unannounced AAA cross-platform game in Culver City on a hybrid basis or remotely in the US.

In this position you will be using your extensive game development experience, you'd design and implement anti-cheat and anti-tampering measures, and otherwise own the game security roadmap for the project. Code obfuscation, secure client - game server communication, data analytics, these should all be things you're intimately familiar with.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the product owner for game security, ensuring best in class protection
  • Architect and implement solutions that help us prevent cheating and other exploits
  • Collaborate with the rest of the game development team to ensure best practices are being followed for secure code
  • Align with project leadership and other key stakeholders, presenting security proposals, escalation policies, and providing insights on the health of the game from a security perspective
  • Engage with the analytics team on instrumentation of events that allow for real-time monitoring and identification of cheats
  • Identify areas where we can bring in third party solutions

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of software development experience in the game industry, with a focus on cheat prevention and cheat detection
  • Extensive experience with C, C++ and ideally a scripting language like Python
  • Deep familiarity with Unreal Engine and live service games
  • Experience with cross platform game development
  • Experience working with data analysis technologies like BigQuery
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey domain information to non-technical audiences

  • Experience with cloud providers like AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Knowledge of OS internals
