Job Description
We are hiring for all levels of security officer: All Shifts
The Crisis Intervention Specialist - under the direction of the Security leadership team and guidance of PBMU nursing leadership, the Security Specialist is the primary responder for all safety concerns in the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (PBMU), both individually and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
The Security Officer is the primary responders for all safety concerns, security incidents and service request at facilities owned or occupied by Seattle Children's in the department's efforts to deter, detect, prevent, respond, and document concerns or incidents that risk the safety and well-being of patients, families, visitors, workforce members, and property by utilizing appropriate protocols, emergency response procedures, and/or non-violentcrisis intervention methods.
All shifts- Day, Nights, Evenings plus Weekends. Part-time & on-call, all locations. Part-time is benefits eligible
Required Education and Experience- Vary for level of Security RoleLevel I high school or equivalent experience, Level II Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field or a combination of 3 years related experience in Security Services or related field
Required Credentials- Vary for level of Security RoleBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hireCPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within 90 days of hire (Annual Requirement)Completion of NCI Autism Training within 12 months of hireCompletion of Seattle Children’s Safe Firearms Training within 12 months of hireSafety Cares Certification within 90 days of hire if required for location (Annual Requirement)Completion of Car Seat Safety Training within 12 months of hire if required for position/roleScore of 80% or above on Seattle Children's Security Competency Exam in assigned area of the Security Department (Service Call, Emergency Department, Entrance, Surge, and Research) within 12 months.PreferredValid Washington State Driver’s License with a driving record acceptable to Risk ManagementCompletion of Wheelchair vehicle TrainingInternational Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Certification
Compensation Range
$21.64 - $39.76 per hourSalary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
