The Role: Enforces all Twin River Casino and state of Rhode Island policies and procedures to insure a safe, fair, and efficient operation. Safeguards employees and guests, secures monies and the facility, and suppresses incidents that present a potential liability and threat to the well-being of the company. Responsibilities: First responders to matters of incident to include accidents, emergencies, medical aids and request for assistance from other departments. Guard and escort monies to specific locations throughout the facility and safe guard the nightly drop of monies and tickets from the VLT machines. Strategically posted at visible locations throughout the facility to deter incidents and remain accessible to guests. Possess knowledge of all Twin River Casino facilities Assist guests by providing information and services or directing guests to the appropriate source for assistance. Checks identification of individuals entering Twin River in compliance with Rhode Island state law. Prepare security reports, communicate with guests, outside agencies, and assist in employee investigations. Provide security for special events, fights, parties, employee events, and tournaments. Act as escorts for guests, employees, outside agencies, transportation of injured employees, and disabled guests. Rove self-parking lots, valet, and exterior of casino. Act quickly in emergency response which includes injured guests and employees, fires, fights, thefts, and arrests. Observe and report any hazardous, dangerous or unsafe conditions that may cause injury to guests and/or employees. Assist fire, police, or other law enforcement agency in their official capacity when responding to or investigating incidents within the facility. Patrol and monitor entrances, gaming floor, and bar areas for the control of alcohol consumption. Monitor the physical access control for the facility verifying authorization and issuing visitor and employee access badges in accordance with the Department of Business Regulations and Rhode Island Lottery. When appropriate detain and retrain persons that have or are about to commit a crime or present danger. When appropriate eject persons who are in violations of company policies and procedures. Qualifications: Security agents shall be current or former law enforcement officers, in good standing, with a minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job experience. They will have a certificate of completion from a law enforcement academy approved by the Director. Security agents must also be current or former correctional officers with a minimum of two (2) years of on the-job experience, in good standing, and graduates of the Correction Officers Training Academy; current or former U.S. Department of Homeland Security personnel who have received appropriate law enforcement training and have a minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job experience. Active, or former, military personnel with an honorable discharge and a minimum of three (3) years of service, who either have appropriate law enforcement training and experience consistent with civilian law enforcement experience. Armed or unarmed security guards, in good standing, who have a minimum of three (3) years of on-the-job experience with a reputable security services firm approved by the Director and satisfactorily complete the training requirements. License Requirements: Serve Safe Certified. Must be able to be licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations, as well as be able to complete a background check performed by them. Job Summary Assist the Security Manager with the management and supervision of the Security Department with a primary focus on staff training, professional development, and service consistency and quality control. Job Summary Nuclear Protection Services at North Anna Power Station in Mineral, VA is seeking entry level Nuclear Security Officers. The company is actively seeking United States military veterans who meet the qualifications outlined below. Security officers at Dominion are responsible for maintaining security at nuclear stations by controlling access, monitoring and testing security and communications systems and ensuring NRC requirements are enforced. Qualified candidates will be responsible for the following duties: Under the guidance of more experienced staff, nuclear security officers prevent and protect against radiological sabotage as defined by the Design Basis Threat. Security Officers will learn nuclear defense tactics, security policies and procedures, and gain tactical work experience. Officers operate, monitor and program electronic security and communications systems. Officers respond to, assess, and investigate alarms, special conditions, emergency situations and security contingencies; provide compensatory measures for failed or degraded security safeguards. Officers will search vehicles, personnel and possessions prior to entry to station. Nuclear security officers serve as members of the armed response force by implementing assigned portions of the protective strategy as directed, and may coordinate communications with local fire, rescue and law enforcement agencies. Officers control access to and patrol protected/vital areas. Officers test all security related equipment, including communications systems, detectors, x-ray screening devices, alarm systems, in vital as well as non-vital areas. Officers prepare required security reports using a computer system and maintain security documentation, including documentation for electronic security systems and hardware. Candidates MUST be at least 21 years of age and must possess a valid drivers license or be able to obtain one. May be required to be a member of the station's Fire Brigade and/or First Aid Team. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following: Candidates MUST be at least 21 years of age and must possess a valid drivers license or be able to obtain one. 0-2 years experience Basic knowledge of weaponry and the safe handling of firearms. Ability to gain the required knowledge and experience dealing with specific issues associated with providing security at nuclear power plant and critical infrastructure protection. Ability to successfully complete a training certification course designed to provide the minimum level of skills and knowledge to competently perform all tasks associated with a Nuclear Security Officer as required by the NRC. Ability to successfully complete physical training requirements. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions. Good attention to detail and ability to maintain a continued level of alertness in a variety of conditions. May be required to be a member of the station's Fire Brigade and/or First Aid Team. The Role:

Enforces all Twin River Casino and state of Rhode Island policies and procedures to insure a safe, fair, and efficient operation. Safeguards employees and guests, secures monies and the facility, and suppresses incidents that present a potential liability and threat to the well-being of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • First responders to matters of incident to include accidents, emergencies, medical aids and request for assistance from other departments.
  • Guard and escort monies to specific locations throughout the facility and safe guard the nightly drop of monies and tickets from the VLT machines.
  • Strategically posted at visible locations throughout the facility to deter incidents and remain accessible to guests.
  • Possess knowledge of all Twin River Casino facilities
  • Assist guests by providing information and services or directing guests to the appropriate source for assistance.
  • Checks identification of individuals entering Twin River in compliance with Rhode Island state law.
  • Prepare security reports, communicate with guests, outside agencies, and assist in employee investigations.
  • Provide security for special events, fights, parties, employee events, and tournaments.
  • Act as escorts for guests, employees, outside agencies, transportation of injured employees, and disabled guests.
  • Rove self-parking lots, valet, and exterior of casino.
  • Act quickly in emergency response which includes injured guests and employees, fires, fights, thefts, and arrests.
  • Observe and report any hazardous, dangerous or unsafe conditions that may cause injury to guests and/or employees.
  • Assist fire, police, or other law enforcement agency in their official capacity when responding to or investigating incidents within the facility.
  • Patrol and monitor entrances, gaming floor, and bar areas for the control of alcohol consumption.
  • Monitor the physical access control for the facility verifying authorization and issuing visitor and employee access badges in accordance with the Department of Business Regulations and Rhode Island Lottery.
  • When appropriate detain and retrain persons that have or are about to commit a crime or present danger.
  • When appropriate eject persons who are in violations of company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Security agents shall be current or former law enforcement officers, in good standing, with a minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job experience. They will have a certificate of completion from a law enforcement academy approved by the Director.
  • Security agents must also be current or former correctional officers with a minimum of two (2) years of on the-job experience, in good standing, and graduates of the Correction Officers Training Academy; current or former U.S. Department of Homeland Security personnel who have received appropriate law enforcement training and have a minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job experience.
  • Active, or former, military personnel with an honorable discharge and a minimum of three (3) years of service, who either have appropriate law enforcement training and experience consistent with civilian law enforcement experience.
  • Armed or unarmed security guards, in good standing, who have a minimum of three (3) years of on-the-job experience with a reputable security services firm approved by the Director and satisfactorily complete the training requirements.

License Requirements:

  • Serve Safe Certified.
  • Must be able to be licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations, as well as be able to complete a background check performed by them.
  • Rhode Island Pistol Permit

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Constantly stand, walk several hundred feet, climb, carry, hear, bend, and stoop
  • Constantly use manual dexterity, following directions, adhere to detail
  • Frequently use eye/hand coordination

Working Conditions:

  • Constantly hot, cold, noisy, wet, dry, dirty, smoky, and dusty
  • Rotating shifts
  • Occasionally dirty
  • Work in a moderate noise level environment, increasing to loud at time
