Position Summary The Senior IT Security Analyst is responsible for managing activities relating to monitoring and responding to security events. The analyst is responsible for monitoring application, host, and network threats, including external threat actors and rogue insiders. As a trusted member of the Information Security team and industry community, the analyst works closely with internal technical teams, business units, and external entities aligned with the business, including private intelligence-sharing groups, law enforcement, and government agencies. The analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth research, documenting threats, understanding the risk to the business, and sharing information with those who need to know. Analysts are expected to continually adapt to stay a step ahead of cyber attackers and stay up to date on the latest methods attackers use to infiltrate computer systems. Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining threat intelligence and threat hunting program and processes Regularly research and identify emerging threats, TTPs in public and closed forums, and work with colleagues to access risk and implement/validate controls as necessary. Assist with Security Operations activities, including but not limited to, triage of alarms/alerts, and performing technical security assessments. Participate in a call tree for outsourced Security Operations Center to assist with triage and remediation of critical and high rated alerts that are escalated both during and after business hours. Research and recommend solutions to fulfill regulatory compliance with all standards set forth by FFIEC guidelines, Sarbanes Oxley, Gramm-Leach-Bliley and other regulations applicable to the financial services industry and publicly traded companies. Perform periodic review of IT procedures and security of all systems in order to maintain integrity of company and customer data. Document and perform verification of IT related changes in accordance with Company security policies and procedures. Research and recommend hardware and software solutions to augment or enhance existing security measures. Stay current in events and trends in IT security. Investigate and report any security violations and incidents and ensure proper protection and corrective measures have been taken when an incident or vulnerability has been discovered. Conduct scheduled reviews of key application security settings. Develop metrics and scorecards to measure risk to the organization, as well as effectiveness and efficiency of SOC associates. Proficient with SIEM tools, threat intelligence platforms, and security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) solutions to centralize and manage the incident and remediation workflow. Knowledge and understanding of networking concepts and securing traffic across LAN, WAN, and Internet infrastructure. Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and MacOS to effectively research and analyze threats in a sandbox environment, and respond to incidents. Experience in incident handling and investigation including using formal chain-of-custody methods, forensic tools, and best practices. Applicable knowledge of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), MITRE ATT&CK framework, and CVSS. Capable of scripting in Python, Bash, Perl, RegEx, or PowerShell. Knowledge and understanding of networking concepts and securing traffic across LAN, WAN, and Internet infrastructure. JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of site management, the Security Operations Coordinator is responsible for administrative and operational support functions at a client site. The core function of this role will be performing timekeeping, payroll/billing entry, and managing a vehicle fleet. Further training will also be provided to support other site roles in a backup capacity. This position additionally requires becoming state licensed as a Security Officer. Having a technical skillset and background knowledge of payroll processes, timekeeping and billing is an important requirement for this role. Successful candidates must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a strong competency using Microsoft 365 applications. The Senior SOC Security Engineer will serve as a key technical expert within the Security Operations Center (SOC), responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of security monitoring and incident response technologies. Collaborate with the monitoring and response team to create playbooks for specific incident response scenarios related to the products and services you oversee. These investigations, incidents, and playbooks may address security, fraud, privacy, resilience, and related concerns. Support the security operations team with the vulnerability management lifecycle for products and services under your purview. Ensure technical alignment for the products and services you oversee with team initiatives, including GRC, security operations, and monitoring and response activities. Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Strong communicator with the ability to lead technical architecture discussions, drive technical decisions, and effectively communicate with non-technical audiences. Expertise in agile product lifecycles. Ideally, you have experience in a product manager or engineering manager role and understand how SaaS products (B2B, B2B2C, and B2C) are built, including roadmap planning and feature and defect prioritization. Experience with threat modeling methodologies, with the ability to create efficient and scalable approaches to conducting such assessments. Familiarity with AWS services, including KMS, SST, Container Registry, ELBs, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudTrail, and IAM (knowledge of GCP and/or Azure is a plus). Proven ability to establish credibility and build trust with business, engineers, and operational staff; confident yet humble. Hands-on experience with managing security for core enterprise systems, e.g., ERP, HCM, Salesforce, etc. Strong understanding of both human and non-human identity management and common enterprise and consumer authentication standards and use cases. Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools, including Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK; GitHub and GitHub Actions; artifact management; and secrets management tools like Doppler and HashiCorp Vault. Passionate about learning new technologies. While you're not expected to know everything, you should demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn as needed. Prior experience interfacing and supporting with G&A teams, internal product teams, and other cross-functional areas. Proficiency in writing automation scripts in multiple languages, with prior experience automating security processes in cloud or SaaS environments. Experience engaging with vendors in design partnerships. Experience overseeing vulnerability and threat management at the platform and application levels. Familiarity with penetration testing and red team exercises, including manual verification, exploitation, and lateral movement. Ability to balance a high-level view of security strategy with attention to detail, ensuring thorough and effective execution. $146,000 - $170,000 a year In addition to the above salary, this role may be eligible for a bonus.
