Implements specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPNs, firewall contexts, and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate. Minimizes network latency and maximizes data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools. Manages assigned tasks and provides guidance to junior Network Engineers. Validates new/existing dataflow and data formats. Coordinates with appropriate dataflow organizations and end-customer recipients, follow-on data repositories and tasking organizations and understands potential adverse impacts on system-wide dataflow. Designs, integrates, tests and deploys RF communications solutions. Leads large efforts of dynamic requirements and scale. Works with Systems Engineers and cross-organizational teams to define requirements. Resolves complex network problems, operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment and network simulators. Designs, implements, and evaluates security systems Contributes to security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management Supports the Government in providing technical leadership to engineering teams Recommends corporate solutions to resolve security requirements Supports the Government in enforcement of design / implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures Qualifications: Ten (10) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required. F our (4) years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Five (5) years experience with the following Network Tools; What’s Up Gold and NetFlow. Five (5) years experience with the following SIGINT tools: Common View/Max View, Triton, and TUMMS.   • Liaise with MassDOT for security projects and execution
  • Produce and review security reports

  • Oversee emergency management personnel  
  • Manage FRA submissions for CFR requirements

    Business Continuity

  • Manage strategic direction / governance and fulfill custodial duties for the Business Continuity Plan
  • Incorporate the requirements of Continuity of Operations as per Operating Agreement in Business Continuity Plan
  • Plan and oversee theoretical/practical exercises of the plan

    Engagement

  • Represent the department at various internal and external meetings – safety boards, committees, and calls
  • Develop and maintain a trust-based constructive/productive working relationship with the management of the business units
  • Provide advice and recommendations to business units that minimize disruption (as much as possible) and demonstrate an effective partnership between the department and business units
  • Design and participate in initiatives as required

    Organizational Specific

  • This role may be required to perform other functions under the direction of Vice President Safety, Security, Quality & Environment

    Working Conditions (including Physical Demands)

    · This position can expect to spend up to 25% outdoors or in facilities across the network.

    · The nature of the incident response will expose the candidate to loud noise, extreme temperatures, and possible fatalities. 

    · Essential Physical Requirements – able to type, climb, traverse uneven surfaces.

    · Travel Requirements – position requires travel within Massachusetts and Rhode Island to all facilities across the network.

    · Some out-of-office hours work may be required.
