Being part of the Security Engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer, your role will involve crafting and improving solutions to protect PlayStation platforms and experiences. You will provide strong technical abilities in the security space to ensure solutions are secure in the defense against malicious actors.

Our team is innovating and crafting the next generation of gaming experiences on PlayStation! You will work alongside partners in engineering, product, design, and research to build tools and technologies that keep our players and network safe.

Role Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop, implement, and uphold SDK and application security features

  • Produce excellent, detailed design and development documentation

  • Work with colleagues from other teams and across the org to deliver features on time, with the ability to respond to evolving requirements, and strategic shifts in direction

  • Ability to balance periodic on-call duty, and defensive engineering to minimize impact to business and diagnose problems

  • Familiar and comfortable with Agile/Scrum software development methodology

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of programming experience in C/C++/C#/Java (or equivalent) developing Applications or SDKs using object-oriented design patterns

  • Experience working with cryptography or cryptographic algorithms and signatures, certificates, data integrity programming, and securing data through communication protocols such as IPC

  • Strong understanding of engineering standard methodologies - requirement gathering and analysis, design and development of scalable code with unit tests, participation in code reviews and documentation, experience with multiple technology stacks

  • Thrive in a Team environment where you're writing high quality and well-architected code

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Windows/PC Security software development

  • Knowledge or experience of RESTful Web Service APIs and backend infrastructure

  • Experience with Web Services Frontend development

  • JavaScript, React, React-Native experience
