Security Officer Chatham University is seeking a dedicated and professional Security Officer to join our Public Safety Department. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and university property. Responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, and providing exceptional customer service to the campus community. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct patrols on foot or by vehicle to maintain the security of personnel, buildings, and equipment. Maintain a visible security presence and escort services when needed. ·Conduct periodic checks of emergency equipment (call boxes, lighting, etc.) and report malfunctions. Report dangerous, or suspicious activity to campus police. Operate the campus security system. Secure campus buildings and classrooms by ensuring doors are locked. Enforce parking policies, including ticketing and towing when appropriate. Maintain professional and positive community relations with students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check. Strong verbal communication skills (in person and via radio). Ability to work independently and handle routine duties without direct supervision. Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 1–2 years of experience in campus safety, private security, or related field preferred. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and university property. Responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, and providing exceptional customer service to the campus community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patrols on foot or by vehicle to maintain the security of personnel, buildings, and equipment.
  • Maintain a visible security presence and escort services when needed.
  • ·Conduct periodic checks of emergency equipment (call boxes, lighting, etc.) and report malfunctions.
  • Report dangerous, or suspicious activity to campus police.
  • Operate the campus security system.
  • Secure campus buildings and classrooms by ensuring doors are locked.
  • Enforce parking policies, including ticketing and towing when appropriate.
  • Maintain professional and positive community relations with students, staff, faculty, and visitors.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Strong verbal communication skills (in person and via radio).
  • Ability to work independently and handle routine duties without direct supervision.
  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
